The fate of nearly 1,600 Jan. 6 defendants depends on Donald Trump
President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to pardon many defendants accused or convicted of crimes related to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

More than 1,500 Jan. 6 defendants are hoping President-elect Donald Trump will grant them pardon.

Many have accused prosecutors of inflating the charges against them, despite copious video and other evidence.
