Work got the sql slammer virus this weekend…I’m surprised, as usually we’re up to date on our service packs…I guess this one slipped past the guards. Ah well… all better now! Kev & Sappho got the poo-end of the stick on that one.

I’m proud of my brother… looks like he’s about out of the reeds. He’s got a good job to start up with this weekend, and it looks like he’ll be bright eyed and bushy-tailed for it. It’ll be nice to see him drawing a decent paycheck.

Got half my w-2 today… I need to check and make sure it was done right. I should wait until I get the half form when we were being leased help rather than an actual subsidiary of RC.

Sappho mentioned that she wanted me on her team, should she ge ton a trivia game show. 🙂

Church decorated with the bones of its’ past parishioners.

“The Sedlec Ossuary (a.k.a. Kostnice) is a small Christian chapel decorated with human bones. It’s located in Sedlec, which is a suburb in the outskirts of the Czech town Kutna Hora. In 1996 I visited the place and fell madly in love with it. “

Ossuaries were quite common in the old world. Before frequent cremation was partially accepted a lot of communal graveyards had serious space problems even on a base of natural moribundity.
Add some famine or plague and you’d better start stacking. (Not to mention people wanting the pole position for doomsday.)

Odd dreams last night… a lot of movement and travel. There were many sensations of high speeds and if not flight, a sideways plummet. Swift Free-fall. I don’t recall a vehicle. Gadzooks… Speaking of movement, this morning blasted past. Off to work! Until Later, dear journal.

Hmmm…. Other stuff happening locally and for free today, rather than Superbowl Sunday. Lots of Fairs/Festivals, too.

City Link, while being a fake “independent news source” that’s really a shill for the Tribune… has a lot of fun resources. The Best of 2002 has a list of all sorts of local goodies to look into, especially if you’re in the area, anyway. I’d like to see all the links geocoded, too, so I could just automatically see how many are really near, and scan those first. I guess that’s what Citysearch tries to be. Here’s an example of a radius stuff to do search local to my house.

I wonder how Fiesta fort Lauderdale is doing? It does end at 4, for the footballers.

I could walk to the Parker Playhouse to see Tick Tick Boom… I wonder how good it is? It closed next weekend, on my birthday. It’s surprising that the playhouse doesn’t have a website. I wonder if they’d be interested in getting one made up? Sic Dave on there and maybe get a percentage.

Recent keywords that found my site-

I get more hits from Lemmiwinks, That Tahoe commercial, and Heroclix… a few oddballs, though

Considering that the Buccaneers and the Raiders are playing in this Year’s super bowl… Where are all the cool as heck Pirate-themed Promos? No “Raiders are set to plunder” puns? “The Bucs will soon be walking the plank, me hearties?”

Something linked into the Pirates of the Caribbean Movie, maybe? (Disney fun fact – The WDW ride was originally going to be a Western Expedition type ride because Walt Disney felt Florida was so close to the Caribbean that people would not be interested. However, he decided to stay with the Pirates Of The Caribbean and it remains the same.) Captain Morgan’s Rum Commercials? A rejump into talk like a pirate day?

I really like Cheesy pirate stuff. Gimme a Jolly Roger or something, crappy, unoriginal, media circus!

Bad pirate jokes only a Scotto could enjoy.

Back!

Did you miss me, dear Journal?

Wind and Rain… not as cold as earlier, but in my laundry clothes of a t-shirt and shorts… cold enough.

Whoosh! Wind! *chatter*

Assorted Doodles waiting for my clothes to dry:

The guy on the (thankfully) other side of the 'mat was eating a sandwich comprised of two bear claws pressed together, surrounding two tins-worth of sardines in light oil. I don't know if he had Tabasco on it or not, but I like to think so. *bleah* There's a way to kill your appetite!

Little ol’ Newt must really like the fabric softener… I remade the bed, and he ran around in circles all over the place atop the covers! Or maybe he liked how Dryer warm they are, though it’s pretty warm inside. Mmmm…. Warm, fresh covers. Whee!

Hooray! my brother got a daytime job! Hooray, I got a midday infusion of fun and love from my Sweetie, and we’ll be spending some more quality time tomorry!

*happy Dance*

Lingo is a pretty dang good game show. Much more intelligent than wheel of Fortune. I bet my sweetie and I could clean up as partnered contestants. You can play along at home, and that’s pretty nifty. Interactive play with the game show network is pretty wild. Answer the questions on TV along with the rest. Russian Roulette is a bit tougher than I thought, too.

A year ago – walkies by the Sample-McDougald House, blair witch site, some dead links, snooze button.

Two Years ago Font Test, memory marker of 8th grade, age/date comparison, “Hello?”

The New York Times has an article on how, having a key to one in a series of locks (say… the key to one door in an office building) to which there is a master key (a key that opens all locks; many large buildings have these), one can make a new master key.

For those who just have to know the details, (It’s a big download ~ 3mb )

Much simpler to get past security when you’ve got a key, rather than lock picks and a black mask. Good plot point to make a note of for later writing.

Speaking of large downloads, at about 18.5 megs…. The Lord of the Rings… with some unusual credits… don’t look before the movie, unless you want spoilers. The movie is really quite nicely done.

I scored a Jornada 430 for just about nothing and ordered part of my sweetheart’s valentine’s day prezzie, too. Whee! Fun things for everyone! I like getting trinkets of happiness for her… simple smiles are heartwarming. With the Jornada, there might be some color doodles…. or maybe not. It’s going to be hard to bypass my happy lil palm visor.

Kitten day at work today… making everyone sleepy by climbing up, and snuggling. Bonus shot of a picture from a smile safari… trying to grab someone grinning with my camera peektures

Someone came knocking on my door at about 7 this morning.. .by the time I got to the door, they were gone, but I heard knocking at the house next door. No flyers or anything. I wonder what that was about?

Too dang cold for walkies this morning. Call me a sissy if you like, by the Temperature reads 35. yikes.

Thinking adoring thoughts for my sweetheart. I want to tuck into bed with her, and spend all day snuggling under the covers, giggling and playing… or just snoozing together.

Hippos Roam Colombian Drug Lord’s Abandoned Ranch – yay! Hooray for Thriving Hippos! full article

Kev was at a grand jury today, re: the old boss… looks like Wally may be finding himself doing jail time after all… mail fraud, breach of multiple contracts, forgery (of signatures), not to mention buckets of others…

Looks like some folks that were going to bring evidence ducked out at the last minute, for fear that they’d implicate themselves… subpoena time. (Not for Kev… but a couple of others)

Might get more busy where I am at work… new clients, new needs to fulfill. Hopefully it’ll be just busy enough,

It’s not so cold yet…. about 56F right now. It’s supposed to drop to the 30s tonight, but I’ve engaged a pre-emptive strike by running the heating-fan. That little thing cranks out a lot of warmth…I figure it’s about 70 in here or so. I’m a little worried for folks that aren’t used to that sort of cold in Florida, and for the Citrus industry. Newt and I will be quite the toasty-warm boys.

For up to date reference –

I got a little spam at my lj email address. (I’m in good company, though, latraviata and sandstar both got it too. The spam

Tests, truth, rumor, links and history.

My dreams last night were of my sweetheart and I going on a treasure hunt on the pier near the beach. She was doing really well… had paper-photos of all sorts of things that we were looking for. There are no wooden cigar-store Indians around here, but she got a picture of one. A triceratops, too. She just rocks, is all. I’ve been wondering about a LiveJournal scavenger hunt. Not sure how to implement it yet… take pictures, and post in a community? Links?

Here I sit with this tempest in my gizzard, making flotsam of any recognizable stream of thought. Focusing, my thoughts return to order at proper mental cubbyholes like bees to the hive.

The people at Cuss Control Academy want to help you stop talking like a silly-billy, potty-mouthed nincompoop.

Tomorrow, it’s expected to drop into the thirties. Hey. This is Fort Lauderdale. Did the Cold Miser slip the Heat Miser a mickey or something? I’ve got to remember to bring a sweater… That’s cold enough for even a big bear like me to seek some heat. I’m glad my apartment will retain good warmth for Newtie while I’m out. I know that he’ll be seeking Scotto the Human Space-heater when I get home.

I’m finding myself craving a Zombie tonight.

Newt’s purr is like a trilling right now… vrrrrt, vroo…
