ps4 good news

I got what I wanted for the PS4:

Fallout 4 with Mods.

Xcom 2

Red Dead Redemption HD / Red Dead Redemption 2 hopefully announced at E3?

Everything else is just gravy.

Faves off the top of my head, in no particular order:

  • Minecraft
  • Lego Dimensions
  • GTAV
  • Far Cry 4
  • Rocket League
  • Shadow of Mordor
  • Hand of Fate
  • CounterSpy
  • Dragon Age: Inquisition
  • Saints Row IV
  • Rogue Legacy
  • Nidhogg
  • Dishonored

and I’m sure I’m forgetting a bunch not right on my noggin.

I still haven’t even played the last of us, witcher 3, the new uncharted or castle wolfenstein yet.

If they could drop another portal game, I think that’d be it.

update – just got the lowdown on lego dimensions upcoming – Holy Crap, I am so much that market.

From the press release:
the first wave of content will include the Ghostbusters Story Pack, Adventure Time and Mission: Impossible Level Packs, Harry Potter and Adventure Time Team Packs, and A-Team Fun Pack.

Following this, additional expansion packs based on “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” “The LEGO Batman Movie,” “The Goonies,” “Sonic The Hedgehog,” “Teen Titans Go!,” Lego City Undercover, “Knight Rider,” “The Powerpuff Girls,” “Gremlins,” “Beetlejuice,” and “E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial” will be released.

looked at my last florida employer. Yikes.

Weather grew cooler last night, would have been a good time to walk if I weren’t so creaky.

Looked at the website of one of my old workplaces, and am dismayed to see that it is woefully, embarrassingly out of date… then I stumbled across the .org rather than the .com site… a totally different site, even more outdated, older design, not forwarded from the other. Both are full of broken links, both internal and external.

Shameful, and I won’t even go into how many 508 compliance errors are on there.  FLASH on the page!

It has contact information for someone who passed away two years ago.

I followed up to look at their social media pages.

  • Twitter – out of date by nearly six months.
  • Facebook – even longer.
  • Blog – dead after 6 entries, and years out of date
  • YouTube – no new videos for years.
  • google plus, super kaput, of course.
  • RSS feed of recoveries, stale for more than a year.
  • They’re no longer listed on Charity Navigator.

Looked at the tax reports up on guidestar, and the donations have dropped dramatically. I’ll be interested to see if they got *any* donations in 2015, once the tax paper work becomes available.

  • 2014 – $267,401
  • 2013 – $515,648
  • 2012 – $600,099
  • 2011 – $1,008,134
  • 2010 – $1,050,671
  • 2009 – $1,254,845 via 990
  • 2008 – $1,330,819
  • 2007 – $1,315,614
  • 2006 – $828,343
  • 2005 -$707,503

Also ran a review of public tax records (form 990, public access) , and there are only 4 employees, now? Yeesh. Glad I got out of there when I did.

I found this review of A Child Is Missing Inc. Check it out or write your own review of a charity.

Disappointing is to grossly understate the situation.

Huge staff turnaround as the head of the org has very poor managerial and leadership skills. Preys upon the the good-natured and charitable to give long hours, low pay and brings down morale by focusing on the negative rather than the positive.

Accountants, IT, fundraising staff and more all jump ship as rapidly as possible – people with the best interests of children in mind leave while those looking to profit from the misery of others remain.

At least twenty-eight people have turned over in 3 year’s time here. When one considers that they have 14 positions, five of them part-time and not all 14 existed for that full time, that’s a sure sign of a problem.

Misleading info regarding recoveries — credit is taken whenever a recovery is made on a project is touched by them, not necessarily if they are directly responsible.

They should be investigated and reviewed in-depth — I feel money donated to them would be best spent elsewhere.

Thursday, June 9, 2016. I identify as a zetetic.

Woke late, and didn’t have time to locate a plastic monster to photograph.

Recently heard the term “zetetic“.

From Ancient Greek ζητητικός ‎(zētētikós, inquisitive, keen), from ζητέω ‎(zētéō, I seek).

I like it a bit more than “skeptic”. To my mind, there aren’t as many negative connotations.
