So windy yesterday and today, that the windows in the building are creaking… sounds like a ship at sea. One of my coworkers claims that she can feel the building move.. I’m not that sensitive to motion – the tower seems pretty dang sturdy to me.
Somehow I doubt this will happen here any time soon, let alone this. Sakes… was Wilma two years ago, already?
We’ve been pretty fortunate, storm-wise lately. One Ice storm on Valentine’s Day… what more reason do you need to stay indoors?
BHK picked me up from work, rather than have me take the Metro home… That shaved 2 hours off of my commute – more quality time with the Missus. We stopped off at *$ for cocoa, and then grabbed a little California Tortilla for take home… watched open season with the in-laws and then played a little classic mario bros before retiring.

The Doodleboard in my website’s toybox is getting a little activity again.. I dig the two newest pix.
Odd that my wordpress backup journal has already gotten a half dozen spam-hits (all removed by akismet before publishing.) just random gibberish, no links or anything.
Christmas reminder.. Santa’s Pals, not so sinister elf-replaced Black Pete and the sinister Krampus. (More Krampus here ! – Found while Searching for James Ensor… Belgium’s Famous Painter. )
Holiday Q&A, via eryx and kat
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags?
I prefer to give gift bags, because I’m lazy, and most folks don’t appreciate me wrapping stuff in the comics pages. Receiving, I prefer wrapping paper because a gift is not a gift without SCRUNCH SCRUNCH SCRUNCH sound effects!
2. Real tree or Artificial?
I like the scent of a real tree, but prefer the sap of an artificial tree.
3. When do you put up the tree?
pretty soon. usually about 2 weeks pre-Christmas.
4. When do you take the tree down?
After New Year’s day.
5. Do you like eggnog?
It’s not bad… I prefer cocoa or cider.
6. Favorite gift received as a child?
Tough call… either tonka truck, or army men. probably both.
7. Do you have a nativity scene?
Nope, but we came close to getting the playmobil one.
8. Hardest person to buy for?
Chris – hard to think of stuff that isn’t standby… earrings, chocolates, etc.
9. Easiest person to buy for?
Newt. Paperwads are the bomb-diggety.
10. Worst Christmas gift ever received?
A bow tie when I was 8. Come on. 8 year olds don’t want clothes, especially bow ties. Bring on the toys!
11. Mail or email Christmas card?
Either is fine… Paper mail is more easily personalized, but I’m terrible about sending letters out.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie?
The Charlie Brown one, I think – Does Uncle Buck take place at Christmas?
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
I try not shop, i just find things as I go…thought that counts and all that. Crunch time hits about Dec 15.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?
Nope.. I don’t know what happened to the bottle of Brut I used to get from gramma every year from 1977-1997
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?
Cranberry Juice is always good… but that’s a drink. Foodwise, I’d have to go with sugar cookies.
16. Favorite Christmas song?
Crabs for Christmas has strong amusement value at the moment, but fave is probably Silent Night.
17. Travel at Christmas or stay home?
Stay home…save the trips for a boring time of year!
18. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Let’s see… off the top of my head – Dasher, Dancer, Donner, Blitzen, Cupid, Comet, Prancer, Vixen, Rudolph. (And Olive. The other Reindeer)
19. Which reindeer is your favorite?
Blitzen – She has electrical powers, and acts as a compass.
20. Do you have an Angel on top or a star?
I prefer a star to an angel.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Morning, usually. Sometimes we do one present at midnight, before bed on christmas eve.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year?
Grumpuses!
