Hey, a friend of ours gave us a bobblehead of her! Karen is the first doll / toy we have of a person we know and currently socialize with on the regular. She will get a place of honor somewhere near Edgar Allan Poe and Count Chocula, I suspect. (unless she would rather hang out with Mothman and Bigfoot )
Grilled out with her, @maximillian_deersteak , Leslie and the Inlaws for a nice day of tasty corn on the cob, veggie burgers (the rest got ribs), cornbread, baked potatoes, and baked beans! The local farms don’t have 5hat quality corn just yet, so I suspect it was brought from the Carolinas. We don’t usually get good corn here until around July 4 via Swann Farms.
They all went on a walk by the bay, but my back is tricking up, so I remaing back here with Larry to post this and talk about trains, ships and history.

Just found out that knitter friend Betty McGrane passed away earlier this week, succumbing after a heart attack and stroke. I regret not seeing her since before covid broke.
She was very kind to me and I didn’t mind helping her with tech support one bit. She was easy going and was always happy for the help. She had a running joke that if I ever tired of my wife that she was an old lady with a big pension.

The phone automatically created a panorama from three tree photos taken in the woods.
Cool-ish in the shade, maybe the low 70’s F in the shade, even cooler if a breeze kicked up on the edge of the treeline.
#bogsafari critter count: a ton of red-winged blackbirds, a few robins, some osprey, a couple of finches, 3 different squirrels, and something(s?) larger in the brush. Possibly a groundhog, clumsy snake or a fox?
The leafy canopy is at what I figure to be maximum, almost dark save for a weak green glow effect in the deepest section.
Might get together with friend SM tomorrow…will that be enough to change the name of these personal missives from SQID to something else? Just swampwalks , maybe?
I like to be the shortest tree in the woods.
