Date night tonight with BHK – we went to DuClaw, and she had a spinach salad, while I ate a pile of bread, cheese and potato-related items.
Toe The Line (Not Tow the line ) – That’s ok… I got Piss and Vinegar wrong… I confused it with the incorrect Pith and Vinegar.
I’ve just upgraded to ATi Catalyst suite version 8.1 and now a small white square a few pixels across in the upper left hand corner of the screen – I thought it was stuck pixels at first, but later discovered that it goes away when I remove the Catalyst icon from the system tray.
I’ll be interested to see if 8.2 remedies the issue. EDIT: maybe– A white dot no longer appears on the windows desktop when launching the Catalyst Control Center. However, this issue may still be experienced under the Windows XP operating system. Further details can be found in topic number 737-31715

Hm.. silly mashups of Gwen Stefani / Queen, or any all of They Might Be Giants.
2. what do you eat when you raid the fridge late at night?
I rarely do a late-night raid any more… but I generally grab whatever is easily eaten with just my hands… a bit of cheese or olives are nice.
3. what is your secret guaranteed weeping movie?.
I’m not thinking of it at the moment, but I can be a softie, especially regarding hospital scenes, or losing a loved one.
4. if you could have plastic surgery, what would you have done?
Nothing comes to mind… I like how I look. My biggest goal is to get better muscle tone and less fat.

nothing that I can think of.

I have a few “tells” regarding my being nervous or stressed… .rapid blush response, eyes tear easily.

nah… smoke is bothersome to me. seeing stuff ignite / turn to ash / melt to slag is pretty neat to look at, though.

Just enough, just the one.

I know/knew Marvin Hagler, back when I was a real young’un. These days, my father-in-law is the most famous… it seems like he knows everyone in the tri-state area.

queen sized, with two or more coverlets, and four or more pillows in assorted cases… last look, there was a pink one, a pair in halloween colors / spiderweb prints, and a lumpy one that I use.

I prefer spontaneous, but planning prevents a lot of issues with people / scheduling

Can I opt for CGI? Or make it a cartoon? I hear there’s some guy in an Austin TV commercial that bears a good resemblance to me…. he probably works cheap, too.

Yes, though I’m only passably good.

That was a long time ago… even when I was little, I was pretty big. I miss being able to hide, run and be protected by bigger folks, but there’s a lot to be said to be able to stand and weather things as an adult, too.

It depends on the situation. I like to let other people talk, if they want.. but I’ll fill the silences.

It saddens me that there are transient, homeless, and starving people in the world. Con-men, bullies and thieves annoy and sometimes enrage me, homeless or not.

Usually so. I can be not-so-nice on occasion.

My wife is my friend and my girlfriend! I’d say more time with her than anyone else.

I’d like to build my guitar skills. It’ll happen.

Anything cool, comfy, and non-restrictive. Felt, Egyptian cotton, the stuff of really soft blankets are all nice.

sheets, coverlets, blankets, pillows, cats.

Not generally, but probably would if asked, and BHK didn’t care.
33. what’s the one language you want to learn?
I wouldn’t mind being totally fluent in Latin, German, Spanish or French, mainly for all of the books available that are translated badly into English. If I had to pick just one, I’d love to be fully versed in Latin… it’d be a good gateway to other tongues, and lots of literature.
34. how do you eat an apple?
I generally rinse or at least polish it, bite directly into it through the skin, chew, swallow, and repeat. I don’t eat the core, stem or seeds. If I have the opportunity and time, I’ll slice it with a knife, and eat it a sliver at a time.
If I have the opportunity, I’ll eat it baked in a delicious pie. I like apple pie.
35. what do you order at a bar?
Diet soda, generally. If it’s booze, I’ll take a cider, if possible. Harder liquor, a rum punch of some sort… rum and coke, or rum and fruit juice.

not deliberately. I’ve stepped on nails and been stung by bees.

nope. a nice collection of scars, though.

If I had plastic surgery, I’d admit to it if asked.

why quotes around funny. ha-ha funny, or funny peculiar? I’ve done a few strange and amusing things in my time. Probably better to ask BHK what sort of stuff I’ve done recently.

I know how – haven’t done so in about 15 years.

Hostility.

I don’t… I carry at least 3 other items that tell me what time it is – pda, cell phone, blackberry. sometimes I also carry a psp and a digital camera.

I prefer to buy things for other people – frivolity for myself would be trivial impulse purchases of a soda or the like, I guess.
44. do you consider yourself materialistic?
To a degree. I like living in a climate-controlled home with electricity and tv. I don’t need a car or a yacht with golden fittings.

I like to grill stuff here and there… I still haven’t made BHK lasagna yet… she’s better at it than I am!

a comfy keyboard or smooth-glide pen.

All kinds, as long as they’re entertainingly written. non-fiction, history, fluffy sci-fi/fantasy, westerns, mysteries, humor… I’m pretty easy.

Get a financial advisor I can trust, do what I could to retire and pay off debts for myself and my loved ones, volunteer sompleace where I could be helpful and enjoy being so, and travel a bit, I think.

cremation, or better yet, just mulch me.

regularly is a tricky word. I scan a lot, read some, fully digest a precious few.

unbalanced situations. I don’t like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

I can usually be pretty diplomatic, but they usually figure it out… unless they’re totally oblivious to light commentary and assorted body language cues.

if I’m hurt enough, sure. I don’t like to make a habit of it… but I don’t like to make a habit of being hurt, either.

be a slacker… I hate to slob around if someone else is working hard in the same room. If they’re slacking too, it’s ok.
