Simple day today – got allergy shots at the docs, Britney is in for some serious "Peyton Place" action later on.. her gf, ex gf, and the gal she’s interested in are all going to the beach this weekend. She’s either come to work on monday with some serious scarring, a smile on her face, or both. Forget love triangles… that is a lust quadrilateral.
Tonight we saw the Pietasters and the Players Band . Both put on a good show! Audience was having a good time, and we got to talk to the sound guy before the show – nice dude, in his 60’s, did gigs for Herbie Hancock and a fistful of fun bands. PLease forgive the image and sound quality of the phone posts, dear journal.
Since I can’t recap any better than this, I’ll steal this (slightly paraphrased) review from BHK in an email to Cousin David –
It was a great show except during the opening act there were two couples sitting in a table in front of us that talked through the whole set and obnoxiously checked their text messages constantly and one of the girls rubbed her [chest] every time a cover song was played that she knew—Bob Marley (something from hit greatest frat hits album) and Peter Gabriel‘s Sledgehammer—she was just about perfect for the [d-bag] she was sitting next to. I had to laugh because they left right after the opening band without realizing that the Pietasters would put on a better show AND they totally failed to realize what an awesome cover the opening band played of Toots and the Maytal’s 54-46. Hope they didn’t go home and procreate and if they did I can only imagine that something by Sugar Ray was playing.
Monday night, we’re going to see The English Beat , and on June 6th, we’re taking Larry & Chris to see the Jerry Douglas Band. (if Chris tries to escape, we’re out of luck, because Adam’s under 21. )

Newton demanded equal op art rights for Pye’s pic yesterday.
BHK got a massive collection of books and boardgames from freecycle today – enough for a new game a night for at least a week or three. Most of the books will be passed on to goodwill or mulch-too smoke damaged or not interesting enough to keep- but a few goodies in there.
We went to lunch with Chris at the BBQ place – I think BHK’s assessment of Chris just wanting to go out was right.
Spoke to mom on the phone – Bro getting a DNA test w/Shannon – Odds are good that he’s the dad, but it can’t hurt to be sure. (more sure?)
Jay, Duncan and Sean came over tonight for hot dogs and fixings – Jay and Dunc took off afterward, but Sean hung out to watch "Let the right one in" with BHK and me. I liked it more than BHK did. (I give it a 6/10 or so – BHK didn’t like the pacing, which I thought fit the story)
