Fun time at the club yesterday, got a brief introduction to mzk’s short term roomie… seems very professional. I picked up an application on the way out to do a little after hours work, myself.. maybe make a few side-dollars for fun money, and enjoy the company of nice folks I hang out with, anyhow. Marissa and Steve were tending bar tonight.

I’m astounded that nobody mentioned either Newt, Mzk in skimpy gear, or my robot doodle in yesterday’s entry. I have to remember to add MzKitten to the list of awesome felines with Red-fur (hair)

A surprising turn of events… only one person where I work has an operable VCR, and Mona didn’t have a usable tape. ah well. I wasn’t on the WB 10pm broadcast, but I was on the 11pm NBC airing, very briefly.. maybe a half-minute sound bite. I did ok, all things considered.

Doctor Who Continues to be good… a solid mix of humor and drama. Not bad at all!

At the office. Doing a television interview for NBC6 (florida) in about a half hour or so, give or take, regarding the most recent internet stalker/child abduction case, and following up with the news regarding jessica lunsford.

I bet that whenever I go on walkabout, I meander past at least a dozen people visibly living on the street, just inside of the first few blocks of travel. I wonder how many are behind or between buildings, where I can’t see ’em.

I have spent some time living on the street and my brother is currently doing so. I feel for him, but I really don’t know the depths to which he’s sunk. I’ve never had an addiction so strong that it cost me everything else in life, and I’m thankful for that.

I’ve seen my brother take half-smoked cigarettes from public ashtrays and smoke ’em. I’ve never seen him beg for change, but he has been arrested for panhandling. I don’t know how he managed that one… I get asked for change (or a few bucks, depending on how bold the beggar is) at *least* three times a day spent on public sidewalks.

When I went to the club yesterday, the guy mzkitten told that she was married to a circus dwarf came in, and he remembered me. I got to gab with him for a while, but I left for the day before he was undoubtedly tossed out on his ear.

MzK almost shot me in the eye with a champagne cork… I think that she was more worried about it than I was. An eye patch would only make me more piratical. I’m amazed that piratical passed the spell-check. Some serious force behind it, it flew about 40 feet or so.

Oona did well, understandably nervous. I think she’ll be fine once she unclenches just a bit.

The weather yesterday was beautiful! A shame I had to stay so close to HQ, but today will be better, once the afternoon rolls around.

D’s birthday is in a week. See what happens when you don’t clear out your memos? I notice she hasn’t added anything to her wish list since 2003.

More Walker Texas Ranger Clips not the best, but it’s nice to have a complete set. Nothing beats getting punched out in a bear trap, though.

Eight CDs to bring to the club today. I hope and trust that Mzk and Belle will enjoy ’em. Interesting that Jul didn’t ask for any… I’ll see where her tastes lie today, if she’s there.

Didn’t make it to the Tiki party last night, but next week is a distinct possibility. I’m in tonight, too – EN has a guest over so I’m taking call, and breaking in Oona at the same time.

It was very difficult leaving the bed this morning. Ol’ Newtie was especially snugglesome, and the hen house doesn’t seem so appealing as hiding under the covers.

Mix of good and bad yesterday at work. Another great success, but we lost one to water. I can’t imagine what it must be like for a parent to lose a 4-year-old. Tech issues almost caused me to miss the poorhouse, but fortunately MM took care of things, and I got to spend a few hours gabbing with mzkitten. It was nice to hang out, gab with a nicey and suck up some local color… man, much of the crowd seemed almost too young to be able to drink. Hopefully, next time, more of the crew will make it out. darwinsjezebel and her mate visited briefly too, but had to fly early to do some promotion for the club in Miami.

Kev saw Tomi! Fifteen years since I’ve seen him, he’s now 35 years old, and he’s had a stroke, but apparently is a fun guy, still into movies and pizza like no other. FMM is raiding Wally’s place for stolen goods.

ADP installed some sort of viscious software on her computer, and it finally launched an ugly payload all over her system. Anti-spyware sort of caught it, but her proxies and assorted networking went kerflooey for a little while.

I get to give the “don’t install any software on your system, however harmless it may seem (in this case, web accellerators and screen savers), because there are mean people on the internet that want to break toys that don’t belong to them.

So, thanks to that, I get to little late to catch up running postal sorts for the magazine. I’m taking call for a little while for EN tonight, but I should still hav eplenty of time to get home, shower, and go out ot the poorhouse at 10ish.

In up News, Kari and Oona both came in today, and will be acting as tech reservists. First trial by fire will be Oona this Friday (I’ll stay home, on call, just in case she hits any bumps.) Second will be Next Thurday and Kari. I’ve got ot come up with a good shedule for the crew… I really prefer to still give EN and MA the lion’s share of hours, because they’re both awesome techs, and could really use the money.
