Dear Hulu,

Why only the *FIRST* season of Newhart? We need more Larry, Darryl, and Darryl.

Thankfully, We eased our loss by watching some Rhoda, Mary Tyler Moore, and The Odd Couple.

It was 70’s-80’s TV weekend for us, especially Sunday.

We didn’t do much boardgaming, I played mostly android versions of the same while watching tv – a little ticket to ride and small world.  We didn’t get to Third Eye Games

I’ve wanted to play a little hive, too. (I liked the chocolate upgrade first found here)

Geek and Sundry tabletop nerd block 2016

Fail.
Nerd block usually gets things right, but this was terrible.

A lackluster t-shirt,2 pencils, a little note pad, a deck of cards, some character coins, MTG action figure, geek and sundry bumper sticker, dungeons and dragons comic book  and  a novelty die  (all ones d6 in a blister pack).

Lots of filler, not a lot of “meat”. I’d say the only thing that will get much use is the notepad, because I use those things like potato chips.

I have really no idea what the character coins are used for.

No way in hell is that worth $50+shipping.

Won’t be buying anything with the G&S brand again anytime soon, and I am sorely disappointed in nerd block for this sub-par offering.

Did *anyone* like this block?

So disappointed, I’m considering filing with BBB. Nerd Block is a bit notorious when it comes to customer service.

Edit: Followup –

I was given the invoice for the “wholesale” prices of my items.

  • T-shirt $11.50
  •  Vinyl Toy – $4.00
  • Bumper Sticker – $2.00
  • Toy Tokens – $6.50
  • Toy Dice – $4.00
  • Notepad – $3.48
  • Comic Book – $4.50
  • Pencils – $4.05
  • Playing cards – $3.46

According to NB that MTG figure, costs the same as two, very standard/simple, pencils. Wholesale. These are supposed to be wholesale prices!

In what world do two pencils cost that much?  Or a novelty die that has all ones?

Seriously?

Scott’s voting choices today.

I may look back on this and regret it, or may not.

https://www.isidewith.com/maryland-voter-guide helped me to pick folks that match my views.

  • Bernie Sanders – President.
  • When it comes to policy, there are few differences between the two candidates locked in a bitter fight in Maryland’s Democratic Senate primary. I’m opting for Chris Van Hollen

My political beliefs would be considered strongly Left-Wing on an ideological scale, meaning I tend to support policies that promote social and economic equality.

So, I’m voting today.

I hate that it always turns out to be the “best of poor choices”, or lesser of evils.

I like Bernie, but doubt he will get anything done with our government. I prefer him because he doesn’t appear to be as sinister or in the pocket of people/corps I dislike as much as Hillary, or especially the repubs.

Hillary is supremely qualified to be president, but I don’t trust her to do the job or back the horses I support. .

  • I’m against the Patriot act, (She is pro),
  • I’m pro legalization of marijuana. (she’s against)
  • I’m Pro-gay rights (She flipflopped)
  • I’m Anti Keystone XL pipeline, she’s supported dirty oil
  • I’m pro equal pay for equal work (so is she – so that’s one!)
  • I’m for a single-payer healthcare system (she really is not)
  • I don’t think work should be taxed at a higher rate than investment (she’s against, again)
  • I am (and was) against the 2002 gulf war (she was pro, but has changed her tune now.)

That said, I suspect she will win the democrat nomination, and that’s better than anyone on the republican side as far as I can tell.

As for Bernie –

  • He’s not a proven leader.
  • I wonder why Vermont’s two biggest political leaders, Governor Peter Shumlin and Senator Patrick Leahy, have endorsed Hillary.
  • He’s 75. That’s an old dude.  What’s his expiration date in a job like President?

So, his disadvantages seem to rise over Hillary’s (the bullet list above were all items Bernie and I agree on.)
