I need to get a travel crate for Newt… or at least a not-so-Newtie beat-up cardboard box to take him n to the doc on Saturday.

This morning, I get to teach the baby-techs how to use the sat-mapping system. 20 minutes for everyone, and an additional half hour for folks that will actually be on call, and Big Kahuna.(who takes call very rarely now, but still needs to be up on her technology.) In order to get around the $600 a seat lisence that dials in every time you use it, Techs now have a community laptop to use, and take home on the night they’re on call. I wonder how long it’ll be before one breaks it, and tries to pass blame on to another? I suspect we may have to have a diagnostic every time it changes hands, just to have a “CYA” situation.

Friday workday, end soon. Let the weekend begin, and extend to a realm of comfort.

UPS keeps trying to deliver my TENS unit when I’m not in… I’ve got one more try, and then I’ll have to go get it at pickup point. bah.

I really don’t have a big problem with serial adders per se, but it would be nice to shake off the old briar-journals that still exist, but that the owner has seemingly left long abandoned. I *do* like the “goatvote” concept… leaving links to arguments pro-con a given concept, for management to evaluate… better than just a yes/no gig. From the entry –

Cool thing about GrayPumpkin… he remembers incidental music from classic TV very well. Gilligan’s Island, Star Trek, I Dream of Jeannie and The Saint all have really great flow background themes as well as the main tune. Game Show countdown timer music is pretty keen, too.

He told me that he read through a 200 page book yesterday, and he’s reading whatever comes by on the library cart. I wonder if jail is the best thing that could’ve happened to him. apparently I can’t bring him clothes, but he can buy a sweatshirt, socks and such through the commissary.

I wonder how folks who actually know me in the flesh feel about reading some of the more sensitive elements of my life lately. Some things that I’d probably have made filtered in the past, I haven’t really bothered to lock up. I may later, depending on my mood reflecting back… but I suspect it won’t change anytime soon. I wonder where my mind will be when I look back in a year or three and see what’s been going on.

I did have a nice email banter with both GP and Katt last night about gastronomic hoodlums, giant ants and drowned uppity townsfolk.

ADP gets another F for night 2 on call. I gave her a 20 minute buffer to do the right thing, and launch community alerts, and she failed, despite telling me multiple times that she’d get things done right.

ADP Gets an F for her first night. Her computer was too slow and it took her 2 hours to launch a 10 minute job. I’m going to see if I can send her home with a laptop tomorrow…hopefully that’ll speed her up. Otherwise, she’s got no future as a tech. She seemed more interested in getting a full night’s pay than the safety of a child…because of that I feel that she needs a priority adjustment, and quick. She’s not selling used books here.

Beverly Hills Cop was on last night…I forgot how fun that movie is. A fine flashback to 1984. A good year for movies. Gremlins, Terminator, Dune, Spinal Tap, Ghostbusters. Made for me being a happy freshman/sophomore in high school.

Tonight is ADP’s first evening on call. I’m “on call” as a babysitter, in case she can’t hack it, has a major issue, or needs my help in some other way. I hope she can cut it.. I’d like to assign her to two nights a week. two less I have to deal with.

Just spoke to the pre-trial office,they said bro was denied the pre-trial(which
puts them on house arrest or release until trial date) because of the
outstanding offence. I spoke to the public defenders office and he said the
judge assigns a public defender at his arrainment. I asked how long that would
be,he said up to 30 days.Looks like he’s stuck there until it comes up. He can
call the nurse and they will supply any inhalers or other non-contraband
medicine he might need.

It seems the seller wants hang on to it for a while,so we’ll need to move on.
The place just won’t appraise out to the amount she’s asking for.

Next place to check out will be Garden Terrace. Not sure if I’ll offer on it or
not…Much roomier (a 2-bedroom), but may need more hard work.

No hard feelings on it either way… it would’ve been nice, but I’m only going to go fair market value.

While the washing spun, I got a pair of blueberry doughnuts at the nearby Dunkin’s. Tasted close enough to pancakes to make me happy, and to think of yesterday’s waking dreams.

Paid another month’s rent, because I haven’t received a reply on my purchase offer yet.

Brother now knows his truck is in impound and wasn’t happy about that. Andy is still in the clink too… I wonder how long it’ll take for eviction to be rolled over? He’s going to call me with a piece of paper next time, so he can get the mother’s number to call, too. He was pretty mad that the truck was in impound… but he should have expected it.

I can’t believe it’s March already!

Spoke with bro.. turns out Sat is visiting day.. so I’ll try and see him in a week. Newt’s got to go to the vet that day for his annual physical, too. maybe I’ll reschedule Newtles for that Friday… I like to stay with him after he’s gotten shots and whatnot.

Bro’s vehicle was impounded, and we can’t go into the apartment, because it’s not in his name. we’ll hear back from the landlord when Andy is evicted.

I dreamt that my beloved quit her job, and moved in with me into the new place while she looked for a new gig. We had a lot of animals… We got a horse and built him a stable over my unused parking spot, and he pulled an Amish wagon for us to get grocery supplies. Pancakes were had by all!

Must do laundry today. I think I’ll shoot for noonish.

Daydreaming about being a superhero in the shower earlier… “He can do whatever he puts his mind to!” or basically, anything that he says and actively believes. Johnny Quick meets Green Lantern, I guess.

I started off by thinking about a kid at a slumber party doing one of those “Light as a feather / Stiff as a board” things, and becoming a crimefighter when he realized that he could fly and was as tough as petrified wood. (Though the abilities only last as long as he keeps repeating the mantra.)

I figured it’d only be a matter of time before he used music to get other abilities… (and it’s a shame that he’s not terribly creative or self-actualized.. if he believed in himself rather than a mantra, he’d probably become Doc Manhattan or something.)

If I could do what songs / common “sing-song” sayings said… what would I pick?

Well, the easy pick would be

And a lovely walk it was, too. I hoofed it up to Cheeburger Cheeburger, and got a big honkin’ portobello melt with a chocolate milkshake. I’m confident that I’ve gone well over my points with those. After, I walked to kilwins to pick up a little treat for later, (three turtles.. going to be goo-od! For those keeping score: Turtle: Cashew; Dark (105 cal/6.5 g fat/2 g fiber/10.5 g carbs) 2 points each.)

There was a fun couple next to me, and one of the girls was fretting… in a fudge shop, and she gave up chocolate for Lent… ah well. Only 38 more days, right? Have some Maple fudge!

It amazed me how many people were dressed for a New York winter out and about… bundled up in black padded leather jackets…While I’m walking around in a short-sleeved Hawaiian shirt and khakis. The upper 50s is not the arctic circle, but there are so many “tropical flowers” down here.

Playing with Time video clips all are worth watching.
