Home again… Just relaxing, and taking it easy.

I know folks that’re going to the two towers tonight at midnight. I’m looking forward to the reviews. I hope that they’re good.

I’ve got to fast as of midnight tonight, so I’m having a meal now. Mac & cheese and peas. Yum. Starchy comfort food.

Ew… Clinton and Demi Moore? Probably pure rumor, but…I bet if he separated from Hillary, it’d *help* her political career.(I really don’t want to see that… I feel that she’s as much of a problem ethically as her husband, politically speaking.)

Newtcam pic du jour…
Newtie!

Going in for 2nd epidural tomorrow. I’m glad I can get it done before it gets too cumbersome. Had fun dancing with the insurance companies….finally, the admin at the pain center took care of it. I hope Santa brings her something special.

NPR recently did this report on “The Sounds of Christmas”, an intriguing art exhibit at Miami’s Museum of Contemporary Art. With the help of local DJs, artist Christian Marclay takes hoary old Christmas albums and mashes them together into funny, sometimes eerie sound collages. (Thanks scrub!)

Off to work. until later, dear journal!

I was tapping my foot. Not impatiently, just keeping time.

My mind wanders at the bus stop.

Drawn waiting at the bus stop…I just put whatever came out of my head. Initially it was going to be a step-by-step image that built itself…I end up drawing me. how’s that for meta?

A tiny, whispering Scotto-head.I slept deeply last night, but I did wake up once or twice. It got pretty chilly… dropped to about 46F. (May not seem cold to some, but when I hit the sack, it was 10 degrees warmer.) Dreams of snuggling with my beloved made it feel warmer than it was. I woke up briefly at about four this morning with Newt under the covers with me. When I first fell asleep, He was snoozing stretched out along my left leg. It looks like it’ll be much the same tonight. He didn’t pitty-pat me awake… so he must’ve been very comfy. We played twist-tie fetch for about 30 minutes this morning and maybe another fifteen of “wrestle the hand”. He’s relaxing on the South ledge now, soaking up some sunbeams, and watching the world outside. I’m fresh from a hot shower and shave, and I’m feeling pretty good, considering that it’s a Monday, and there’s no new Strongbad yet. Ah well… off to work with me. Got to pay the bills!

Where *is* the new Strongbad? There should be one here. Oh well.. you can click on his icon to check out the archives.

Testing to see if the weather chart will work

Just sheared off all of the people in the who have deleted themselves … Count went down from 856 to 844 members as a result. I’m really happy that when folks ask a question, many others pop in to help out. It’s been the most productive, easy to manage community possible. There’s generally a few posts a day, sometimes several. I hope I didn’t jinx myself there.

It turns out that there are 18 people who read my journal and are members of the hut. (including the hut itself… I guess I should really call it 17.) I’m quite surprised that there aren’t more.

I have to swing by UPS sometime this week (probably tomorrow), before work. Apparently they need my signature to deliver something, and I wasn’t home three times. Sakes… Don’t most folks work during the week? Hard to sign for a delivery at that point.

PACKAGE PROGRESS

Newt Likes Broccoli! I was heating some leftovers for brunch, and the little orange piggy walked right over…I didn’t give it a second thought, as Newt likes to curl up, and hang close as a rule. I was talking to him, and gestured in his general direction with a forkful of steamed broccoli. He followed it with his eye, and hooked a mitt around the fork, and began to lick the morsel in question. That’s fair enough., but it came as a surprise, considering that he seems to actually prefer kibble to most human food. Though, he didn’t eat the stem, just the flower head. it had a little soy sauce on it… the salt must’ve been the draw for him…I’ve seen him lick potato chips clean, and leave a limp, saltless tater-tatter behind.

Lionel is a good older brother to Stanley. (I wonder if anyone aside from Kelly will know who I’m talking about.)

Ok… off to get moving on the three S’s. Time for a beard trim. Until later, dear journal!

The guy at the gift shop asked about my posting their cow on the web. Here it is again, in case they’re peeking in.

Witch Cow

It was originally posted for Halloween at this link – http://www.livejournal.com/users/scottobear/day/2002/10/31

That cow about doubled my normal daily hits. 🙂

Out walking by Eckerd’s, a carful of guys thought they knew me. Apparently I look like a guy named “Porkchop” or “Larry”, depending on who was doing the yelling. Anyone who knows me is aware that I’m more of a Tofu Scotto.

I didn’t get to see a movie today… My travels took too long, and I preferred to return home, rather than sitting tight in a movie theatre with a big bag o’prezzies. Everyone is done, except Dave… I’m sure I’ll think of something in the next day or two. Meanwhile, I’ve got wrapping to do. That goes by fast, if I’ve got the TV on. Now, I’ve just got to find a comic book or five that are ready to be sacrificed for the cause.

I was sorely tempted in the Circuit City / Comp USA / Toys R US… but I was good. I bought myself a cool finger puppet set at the little gift store. They’ve got all sorts of Archie McPhee-type doodads there for half off.

Kiss Your Face… assorted folks done up as the clown-faced band.

A year agoTarpo‘s Birthday, pumpernikel, a newt pic, trident gum, ICQ suckage, Potty-talk and dinopoop.

Two years ago – Many folks had the flu-bug (seems to be rucurrent, this time of year), Fight game, silly links, Happy Birthday Tarpo (Again), 18 Beans through Christine, broken mail server, and please click on the hunger site.

One day Chuang Tzu and a friend were walking by a river. “Look at the fish swimming about,” said Chuang Tzu, “They are really enjoying themselves.”

“You are not a fish,” replied the friend, “So you can’t truly know that they are enjoying themselves.”

“You are not me,” said Chuang Tzu. “So how do you know that I do not know that the fish are enjoying themselves?”

Lotto is up to $100 million. I got in on the office pool… 12 people playing including the two newest members of the company. Dick and Joe. I’m going to withhold lasting personality judgment on both of them for a bit, but first impressions are – Joe = Repetitive, and no sense of schedules. If I say something will be ready in 30 minutes, don’t call me every 10 minutes to ask how it’s looking. He may have to be trained with the “Every time you call or interrupt, it’s going to double the time I said it would take.” method. He’s *really* be more of a problem for Santie, Kev and Sappho. Dick, on the other hand is quiet, but friendly.

Joe said that if he won in the lotto pool, he’d keep working there. The rest of us in the room laughed and told him it’d be peaceful for him, all alone like that.

Ugh, sometimes my news of the strange feed picks the wrong time to send me stuff… first thing in the morning! – Homosexual killing and eating ritual shocks Germany , CNN story here – less the more gory details. The phrase “cannibalistic and homosexual tendencies” is off to me… I don’t think it’s the political correctness of it… but the two being linked seems disparate.

Sylvester Stallone has a quote in Death Race 2000… “Some people may think you’re cute, Babe. But to me you’re one very large baked potato!”

Well, it’s time to pick up a few stocking stuffers… 4-legged and crawling creatures, mostly. I’ve yet to find a good pet store on federal highway in this vicinity. I’ll take another look-see as I pick up other stuff. Perhaps I’ll go see a movie, too. I’m interested in Equilibrium, Star Trek, Treasure Planet, Harry Potter, and Die another Day.. All of which would be nicer on the big screen rather than in Kazaa-pirate format. That’ll be my treat to myself if I finish early. Ooh… and maybe a trip to the Chinese market for some wasabe peas and pocky.

Have a wonderful day, dear journal.
