Day 20,246

Summer has been roasty toasty. It was nice to get some frozen lemonade from @debs_lemonade yesterday to cut some of the heat! (Reminds me of the old days in SoFla when the Polar Cup truck would roll around. I do rather wish that there was a sugar-free version, but for me, that is a small issue with an otherwise lovely summertime snack.

Neat discovery today!
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anisota_peigleri
Anisota peigleri, the yellowstriped oakworm, is a moth of the family Saturniidae. The species was first described by Jules C. E. Riotte in 1975. It is found in the United States from south-eastern Kentucky, south-western Virginia, eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina south through western South Carolina and central Georgia into north-central Florida.

Day 20,244

Amy went back home early this morning, and the week went by too fast! Included is a drawing of a tank in the woods, doodled while we watched “Agatha Raisin” yesterday. I had forgotten how silly that show could be. So many cartoonish characters are regulars at the detective agency.

Watching “Vibes” with @almsvats and @maximillian_deersteak , I got out of the shower and it was on, I recocognised it in half a second (impressed Amy, Max knew I’d know it), I haven’t seen it since vcr was rhe home viewing of choice- maybe ’92? I saw it in the theater back in ’88 , too. How could I not know it? Peter Falk, Cyndi Lauper and Jeff Goldblum, 1980s… got to dig it.

Day 20,236
Amy is here! No photos, so I will share progress on a project that I have been working on here and there.
Experimenting with doing a little model editing and morphing to turn some Gormiti, gorilla, orc, wolverine, and spaceman figures into some stretched-out shoulders and ears, skullcaps, and a little color-shifting paint job to design a couple of 3D Skrulls to print. We are all relaxing on the couch with the in-laws and Pearl, watching Crazy Rich Asians, and I am tweaking the models in Nomad Sculpt.

Good morning, fellow junebugs! @almsvats is en route to visit for the week! Off to farmers market before she arrives! Day 20,236
#doodle #cryptid #SaturdayVibes
Yeah, we watched the “debate” last night. Ugh. Debating about golf? No fact checking on 45s many, many lies? 46 looking like he was hit with the feeble stick? Good luck, future generations.
Day 20,234

Hey there, Junebug!
The front and back yards are covered with the crazy bumblebee-like flying of dozens of June bugs this morning. Last week, it was dragonflies.
FIL reminded me that back in the day, people would attach a bit of thread to keep them tethered nearby, like a weird living toy balloon.
Of course, the first thing that came to mind was the B-52s song, although it is not my absolute favorite of theirs (or even in my top twenty, probably). I’d catch some and put them on strings, but I think I like them better roaming free and bouncing around like little flying pinballs.

Day 20,233 Heard “Mexican Radio” by Wall of Voodoo earlier today, and I forgot how much I enjoy it. So, a quickie doodle, in honor of a good bop. Certainly on a wavelength far from home.

Machine Man / Aaron Stack – in my top 5 robo-dudes in comics, possibly my fave in the Marvel universe. (He competes with “Awesome Android” and villains Arnim Zola and M.O.D.O.K.)
Generally, a superheroic, competent, and non-comedic version of Inspector Gadget, Machine Man originally appeared in the pages of 2001: A Space Odyssey #8 (July 1977), written and drawn by Jack Kirby, where he was called Mister Machine. He went on to appear in his self-titled series in 1978. Machine Man is powered by solar energy and also draws power from several different external energy sources, if needed. He has the ability to telescope his arms and legs to a length of 100 feet (30 m). His hands are equipped with variable-payload hand-parts, some routinely carried in his fingers, others stored in hidden recesses in his belt. His fingers contain a variety of devices, including: a gas chromatograph, laser interferometer, micro-pulse radar, audiometer, seismometer, gravity-wave detector, pulse-code modulator, standard computer input/outputs, radio beacon, all-wave transceiver, laser-cutting torch/weapon, and projection of heat, cold, or electricity; one of his fingers has been shown to contain a bullet-firing mechanism that uses .357 Magnum ammunition. He has the ability of flight under his own power through the means of anti-gravity disks. His feet can also change into wheels, like rollerblades.

The heat has me rooted in place today. Don’t make me go outside until it gets cooler!
