The Appalachian Mountains are literally older than trees, with Appalachia being 480 million years old and the first trees appearing 350 million years ago.
Pokey possum
Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements.
Another sign that I’m getting more grizzled as I age – I refer to my doctor as a sawbones.
Day 20,513
Word of the day is pteruges.
Pteruges formed a defensive skirt of leather or multi-layered fabric (linen) strips or lappets worn hanging from the waists of Roman and Greek cuirasses of warriors and soldiers, defending the hips and thighs.

I totally missed the new drop from toyfinity.store , and Mrs Bear got me a sweet collection of toys at about 3am ! I am a lucky old bear. I’ll know exactly what I get when it arrives, but i am confident that she at minimum picked up Aquaskull and Spectre colorways, as she knows my tastes well.
We’ve been unable to put away the box from our new wreath because it’s someone’s favorite new place to perch.

Kwisatz Had-a-snack
i must not get takeout. takeout is the wallet-killer. takeout is the little death that brings total obliteration. i will face the kitchen, fridge, and pantry. i will make choices about what to cook and then execute them. when hunger is gone, there will be nothing, only i will remain
