Mapping personality awareness– My page is here. Do me and then set up a page and I’ll do you!

The Johari Window was invented by Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingram in the 1950s as a model for mapping personality awareness. By describing yourself from a fixed list of adjectives, then asking your friends and colleagues to describe you from the same list, a grid of overlap and difference can be built upGeotarget

Guilt
What is yours?
Explain yourself
Culinary: Spicy, Fried foods Crispy orange or General Tso’s Tofu especially. I could probably eat it 5 times a week and not get sick of it. stir-fry is another one, with lots of zip Literary: Terry Pratchett books They’re fun, goofy popcorn books, a keeno backdrop, and a wide variety of characters (I’m partial to Stories about the Watch or the Witches, m’self, but Death, rincewind and the wizards are entertaining, too.)- there’s about 30ish of ’em. I can only name one that didn’t do anything for me at all, the rest are all at least a 6/10 or better. Audiovisual: Red Dwarf Dark humor, humor-humor, excellent characters, fantastic background, and layouts. Plus, the word “smeg” as a curse word. Musical: Boingy, nasally stuff. They Might Be Giants, B-52’s, Talking Heads, Soul Coughing, Magical Trevor/scampi. fun, but a lot of folks just don’t get it. Like what I liek to read or watch, I’m for stuff with double or triple meanings, dark humor and/or silliness, or references to things that don’t normally get talked about. Celebrity: I’m not a big celeb-follower. If I had to pick anything, I’m entertained how folks in the public eye can be removed from reality so completely. See: Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Howard Hughes, or any other person so surrounded by yes men and have so much money that they can create a fantasy world where the rules change. come to think of it, I’m pretty entertained when folks do that, even if they don’t have the benefit of wealth or fame.

Now I tag:-

More than 50percent of students at four-year schools and more than 75 percent at two-year colleges lacked the skills to perform complex literacy tasks.

That means they could not interpret a table about exercise and blood pressure, understand the arguments of newspaper editorials, compare credit card offers with different interest rates and annual fees or summarize results of a survey about parental involvement in school.

8110 – Birthday Prezzie, Batgirls and stuff

Geotarget
Thank you, dear Shoo! My birthday present got here early, but I was good and didn’t unwrap the gift paper unless she said I could.

And she did. I got the 2-disc Special Edition of King Kong (1933)! Yay!

Much love to all the family Shoo in Shoo-ville! Newt also likes the box quite a lot, too. He’s currently sitting inside, gnawing on a cardboard flap.

Took a lovely late night swim in the pool at about 2am. The water was warmer than the air, which is always nice. I had a brief moment of iguana-fear, which quickly passed after I gave a quick sweep of the area. Very soothing to float on my back, staring at the moon and just thinking and feeling my toes and fingertips wrinkle up a little. Water is still the closest thing to hitting a reduced gravity environment for me… quite peaceful and I could feel a lot of physical tension flow away from my back, legs and shoulders. I was shivering a bit, despite the warm water, and I don’t know what that was…maybe the body unkinking? I may make a habit of nighttime soaks more often.

Hey, look at all the batgirls!

A gazillion of ’em!

Some new designs, some just different styles on the old stuff… pretty nifty lj meme. Some amazingly amateurish, others frighteningly professional.

Take me off the shelf and put me in a plastic bag, because I’m sold!

VS and KTM both submitted resignations this week.. that’s pretty much the entire community relations department. They’ll both be gone before my birthday. I hate to sound greedy, but I really hope this won’t affect my making a long weekend out of Feb 2-5 next month. I wonder how long RR has left before he high-tails it, too?

My, my the clock in the sky is pounding away
There’s so much to say
A face, a voice, an overdub has no choice
And it cannot rejoice

Wanting to be, to hear and to see
Crying to the sky

But the porpoise is laughing good-bye, good-bye
good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

Clicks, clacks
Riding the backs of giraffes for laughs is alright for a while
The ego sings of castles and kings and things

Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye

GeotargetIt’s illegal to annoy

A new federal law states that when you annoy someone on the Internet, you must disclose your identity. Here’s the relevant language.

“Whoever…utilizes any device or software that can be used to originate telecommunications or other types of communications that are transmitted, in whole or in part, by the Internet… without disclosing his identity and with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten, or harass any person…who receives the communications…shall be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.”

Hmm… I wonder how enforceable this is, and how it’ll change the face of the internet? Telephone use? Talk Radio?

The answer to my ESP poll was Wavy Lines. I suspect there may’ve been some circle after image bleed over due to the moon-talk and icon. Very interesting… most people knew that I’d go with wavy lines. Fully 40% of people answering got it right, as well as 33% getting the circle vibe. Spiffy that folks know me that well, give a one in five chance to get it right.

Let’s try it again – I’m looking at an image, and focusing on it… which one is it?

The problem with LJ:

We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about.

Ask away. Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don’t know about you.

8093 – bike-about and the Hoff quiz

GeotargetUnsurprisingly, bro bailed on us getting together today, but I was still determined bike around the region, heading north this time.

I walked my bike to the gas station on 10th & federal, aired up the long-flat tires, rode east to the beach, north on a1a to palmetto park, went west to federal, and then south to 10th. a nice, scenic circuit, but I was too busy enjoying the ride in the cool weather to take many pics. 14.4 miles, total route (I doubled back a few time s to check the bike shop, and rode up Dixie to see what was new. I picked up some cool stuff at the art store which was having an insane blowout sale… one of those foot-tall wooden manikins for drawing bodies for $4, a thick pad full of 12 x 18″ newsprint paper for doodling on for $0.75, and a couple of graphite pencils for a buck. it was all 20% off those prices, too, so I got a lot of fun loot for less than what lunch would’ve cost me out. I wonder if Newt’ll mangle the wooden guy… the manikin is similar to the wooden Christmas tree ornaments that Newt loves to smack around.

Geotarget3602 calories burned if I was walking… I wonder what that translates to in cycling? Probably not nearly as much.

Here’s my route 14.4 miles, give or take.

Moment of Lyric (swf video)

Lying in the corner of a room with a stick in my hand
I’m pointing my stick at a far away land
My stick it has no leaves it grieves me to say
I’m gonna find a new stick then I’ll be, I’ll be on my way

I want to row you across the ocean so blue
Till we find the man
Who kissed all the women in Japan

Old women with no face trying to call out my name
Screaming she’s just been stabbed by a
Chargrilled accountant from Spain
Would you like to dance with me
She whispers from three miles away
We could dance the tango the I’ll be,
Oh I will be on my way

I want to row you across the ocean so blue
Until we find the man
Who drowned all the children in Iran
