Bro called from his weekly place Boynton.. apparently his friend / resource in points North is in jail on a probation violation, so he won’t be moving there now. He asked for my address to write me and was wondering if there is a place there that he could visit. I didn’t have my local addy handy for him to write to me, but I gave him my work addy… but I did point out to him that he could hang out on my screen porch. There was some sort of domestic dispute taking place outside his place that bled over into the phone. He’s looking for a new weekly rental, because he’s not happy there. He mentioned a girlfriend hanging with him and playing god of war on the playstation. (note this was before his 2am wakeup mentioned the entry prior)
Holiday meme –
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate wins over holiday pancake batter, any day.
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Elves wrap, Santa Sets ’em out.

I prefer multi-colored, but white is nice too.

Sometimes. I haven’t this year.

Traditional morning english-muffin pizzas.
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
I don’t have many big Christmas memories as a kid, just a general sense of good cheer, sweet food, time off from school, fun tv and toys. Church was pretty cool, too. No specific incident comes to mind.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
What do you mean? The fact that he works out of Lapland *and* the North Pole? I saw a documentary about finland as a kid that mentioned Santa’s 2nd hangout.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
One at Midnight, or right before bed, depending. not the “big gift” though.
10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?
Santa likes sugar cookies, rice milk, and the reindeer get carrots.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
Love to see it, but rarely do down here in heat-miserville.
12. Can you ice skate?
I used to play hockey all the time, but haven’t skated in years. I suspect it would come back to me pretty quickly.

I liked the model of the goodyear blimp. It had a motorized revolving drum on the inside on which you could create “lighted” messages. (circa 1975)
14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
People actually trying to be nicer to one another.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?

AHOL found my entry about his sticker (most likely via a google vanity search) … it seems that a lot of sticker/graffiti artists swing by. I really dig it when folks float in from the past and say hello.
I wonder how much stuff I’m going to find on my new footpaths?
Aquarius: Your key phrase is “I know.” You not only embody “knowledge,” you also just “know” a lot of people. You feel most alive and secure surrounded by allies who share a common cause. You expend much energy socializing, but not enough on getting to know yourself. Resolve to get comfortable with solitude. Friends come and go, but you always have yourself. (see other sun sign resolutions here)
Was going to go walkies yesterday, but heavy rain poo-pooed that idea. I did get to gab with the Weezle a bit, though, and got quality nap time with the Newt between Sunday chores.
Danny’s going to Connecticut with his wife this coming Friday for a week, to visit his sis, and see his grandmother.

Ok, are you sick of all these surveys that are obviously made by teenagers, with questions like “Have you ever stayed out all night?” Who cares? Well, I guess when you’re 14 that’s a big deal. So here is a survey for adults cause there are some of us out there you know.
For the adults: Continue reading 8014 – I’m not as old as some, but older than others.

Well, internet radio… Country fried hot rod is pretty fun.I’m also currently jamming to X-entertainment’s Christmas Mix
2. How would you describe the format?
Rockabilly, Hillbilly, & 50’s stuff, and the othe ris Some great holiday-themed stuff. PeeWee Herman and Charo, Pogues, and more.
3. Do you think satellite radio will become commonplace, like subscribing to cable TV?
I suspect so, but it will probably have a much more limited appeal.
4. Have you thought about buying a satellite radio subscription?
Yes, but I’ve also thought about having inflatable hair that you can tie like balloon animals. That doesn’t mean I want it.
5. When is the last time you said goodbye?
To Newt this morning, before AM launch. Well, I actually said “Later, Tater,” but I meant goodbye.
Bro called from New Port Richey. Apparently he’s going to live up in Tampa now…That’s a good number of hours away, if he’s actually going there. I’m pretty much all for it. He’ll be away from his “buddies”, or if he’s not, they’ll be away from my domain. He says that he’ll be down once a month to get medicine from his doc, but that sounds like bull.
I’m very happy that it’s Friday. I need a break from this week.
Rearranged the yahoo ads on my site, put them in newtcam and other inner areas, removed ’em from the front page which was too cluttered already.

Go to your Calendar and find the first entry for each month of 2005 (not including memes of course). Post the first line of it in your journal, and that’s your “Year In Review”. year in review
1. What’s your name?
Most folks call me Scotto or Scott or Big Guy or Dude! or Hun.
2. Favorite fright:
Probably the most effective were the jump-scenes in Poltergeist or Alien when I was a kid. I rather like Hitchcock’s stuff now.
3. Got any weird phobias/hangups?
I’d think that we all do! I get a little vertigo when I look straight *up* at something rather than down at a depth. I also stay close to the wall rather than a banister near a ledge or deep fall. My greatest personal fear is suffering at the hands of an incompetent.. whether it’s a doctor after an accident, or a fry cook dropping hairs into my onion rings. I don’t like the idea of someone “helping” me while being unqualified for the task. People mishandling guns near me. People who cheat on their partners physically disgust me.
4. Who’s the best James Bond? Come on, now. It’s obviously…
Sean Connery – though Roger Moore was the best Saint.
5. Pick a happy childhood memory.
Here’s one! – dad packs lunch & tonka trucks
6. Who was your first ever crush?
My babysitter’s friend Patty, I think. Or Diana Horton, my first “girlfriend” in first grade. Not sure which I had a big hug-fondness for. I wonder where either of them are now?
7. Favorite bands/singers:
Talking Heads, They Might be Giants, Soul Coughing, Cake, Concrete Blonde, Beach Boys, Grateful Dead, many, many more.
8. If you could have one material thing besides money… and just for kicks (in other words, nothing you desperately need), what would it be?
A personal masseuse/maid would be nice. Someone to work my shoulders, back and feet and then clean up the apartment.
9. Current celebrity crush(es)?
Hm… lots of attractive people out there, but no celeb girls that I’m currently “crushing” on.
10. Wisest thing anyone’s ever said to you:
“Pick your battles” (not that I always follow that advice.)
I’m Naboo!

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, (even if we don’t speak often) please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL memory of you and me. It can be anything you want – good or bad – BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE. When you’re finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON’T ACTUALLY remember about you.
Greedy Grateful Dead widow burns down online show-library – Archive.org has been forced to take down over 1000 soundboard recordings of the Grateful Dead by Jerry’s wife and a few (perhaps one) remaining member of the band. Ah well, it was good while it lasted.
Banana Pancakes for breakfast this morning. Yumma. I wonder if there’ll be any left over TeeGee treats at work.
Crabby Jack’s for lunch yesterday was nice. Sort of a “Hooters, but with food that’s worth eating” vibe. Cute waitresses and bartender, everyone is friendly, but not “gimme a better tip” fake-friendly. I sat at the bar, and Kristy was knowledgeable about the area and gave me some good hints on places to visit on walkabout and for eats. She’s been working there for 9 years and seems to really enjoy the place. Mojo, the other bartender has been there for 15 years, works tues-fri.
They have a Karaoke night, cheap & tasty food, wireless ‘net (how I sent palm piccies), open to 3am and has some live entertainment there, so it may be a new hangout. We’ll see, but so far, so good. Kristy advised “The Whale’s Rib” to me, and I may guide Danny or perhaps Magda that way when time becomes available.
