Deadly Peripheral

Check out the deadliest computer peripheral to hit the market since the Microsoft Natural Keyboard:

VLe electronic handgun

Metal Storm’s new VLe electronic handgun.

That’s right, no moving parts, all electronic. Metal Storm makes all kinds of all-electronic weapon goodies that they’re trying to peddle to the U.S. government, including a 36-barrel minigun that fires at a rate of over a million rounds a minute. That’s a lot. Here’s the article at CNN. archived article

f-in’ a, man. *snort*

She checks the pipe, while I tighten the lug nutsWeirdo dreams last night… I dreamt that I was a professional shopper.. one of those guys that goes to stores, buys something, and then appraises the salespeople. I was pretty nice overall, but got mad when a lady figured out who I was, and tried to bribe me with free hats.

Hmm.. I was hasty on judging the Newtcam dead… it looks ok this morn… I guess it’s just spotty. (I’m still getting a new one, soon.)

Egads! There’s a Cap’n Crunch and (even better) Jean La Foote action figure! I wonder if Jean’ll be at the toy fair this thanksgiving.

Regarding the picture… It’s my sweetheart and me working on the steam-powered battle tank… Let’s see the zombies get through this! Undead meanies… if there are any mummies, they’ll be dry enough to use for fuel!

The BBC has won a court case against the Metropolitan Police over the trademark of the TARDIS…er, police box.

idea swiped wholesale from sweetalyssm …a good one, because I’ve been feeling a bit dark lately. I’m feeling lighter now.

Things about this day that gladdens the heart –

  1. Waking up slowly & feeling the world around me start to begin to live
  2. Hot shower
  3. Email from my sweetheart/ my hearing her voice in my mind as a result
  4. Popcorn scent
  5. Sounds of Newt licking a fresh ice cube
  6. Work Clothes coming off at the end of the day
  7. Nag champa smoke ribbons
  8. Cheddar Corn-curls

If Zombies walked the earth, I’d wear a helmet.

Erica came by tonight with Bailey, so that he and Dexter could run around and play, while she caught us up on what’s new in her life… work/school/dance pretty much. She mentioned that she’s looking for an after-hours job…I don’t know how she can handle that sort of workload… you’d think that she’d like four free hours a week to rest and recover. I suspect that she’s tight for money right now, though.

Picture of Dexter And Bailey tonight, after hours

Rather cool out this morning…. quite nice, really. Tomorrow, I’m going to remember the GPS, and measure my downhill speed over the drawbridge. I suspect that I’m hitting 25ish mph there. (But I could be vastly overestimating) Note to big-breasted women with too-small bras… the “split-boobie foursome” look isn’t good. Find a top that fits, please. I worry that a too-tight brassiere is cutting off circulation, or is painful in some way.

This weekend I’m swinging by PPF to pick up a bag of 100 glow in the dark zombies, and the Zombies!!! game… a friend there is giving me an employee discount, where he’s throwing in the extra zombie-bag for free! I’ve got to make a point to send a few zombies to friends and family.

Some maintenance guys doing yard work out back… Newt’s fascinated. It’s impressive to me that he’s not frightened of the noise. I think that if he got near a blower, he’d take off, though.

A pic of newt from a few months ago... I'm thinking of submitting it to kittypix or color theory

Spiky, sporadic dreams last night… I don’t remember them too well, because I neglected to commit them to memory right as I woke. I do remember that they were pleasant for the most part, but some adrenaline in there, too.

I’m air?

Personal entry with the most empty eye-sockets and unusual headwear, ever!

Frightening dreams last night. Newton (as he was as a kitten… no more than three pounds, tops) was running around the house (not any one I’ve ever lived in) and there was some sort of party going on… lots of food being prepared. Newt’s bouncing around, being generally nosy, and he touches an oven surface burner-coil with his paw. He’s okay, so I sweep him up, take him to another room and make him stay there, because I don’t want a potentially dangerous repeat performance. Somehow or another, he gets out, goes back to the oven, and gets electrocuted…I don’t know why, but he turns into a stack of steaming multicolored post-it notes. This doesn’t seem absurd in the dream… I’m stricken with grief until I wake up, and Newt’s there, snuggled close. Strange mixed feelings in that split second, of relief and confusion…. I feel good now, because I know he’s safe, sound, and not an electrocuted stack of lightly-glued paper.

Is it wrong of me to delight in a Zombie Abe Lincoln shredding the inside of his crypt… clawing his way free, in search of brains to devour? I bet my sweetie’d be quite adept at kicking zombie booty…The shotgun would take a zombie head right off. Minimum fuss.

Rustboy looks wonderful. I really dig low-budget cool-as-heck animation stuff like that.

The weather has become quite a bit cooler, overnight. Low of 73F… nice! Looks like my connection dropped at about 1am this morning. I hope my beloved remembered her jacket today!

Something I’d have done as a kid…(who am I kidding… or I’d do now) JC Penney is marketing a modified Barbie Dream House as a GI Joe “Forward Command Post.” Little boys can play house, so long as the house in question is part of an overall street-by-street urban combat scenario. (from boing boing)

More doodles…

Flying Carpet! My personal bias for flying carpets is for those that bend a little for lower back support, as shown here. Hooded Evil Cloak/bathrobe is optional.Cycling Jack O'Lanterns... I like the scary nighttime one the best.

One-eyed pirate skull... or.. Polly's revenge. Having one's eyes pecked out by birds. Owie. a monocular Viking and his ship. what's with sailors losing eyes? I think they should have protective goggles or something.
Newt wearing the cpap... not to scale... and no...he doesn't wear it.
The word of the day is sombrero. Why? It's a sombrero! It’s a cool word! Ole'!

Slightly Naughty…

Class 5 free-floating vapor.. a real nasty one too…

why does this auction for hair dye have a picture of a lonesome waffle in winter?

wOoooooOOOOoooFriday 5 –

1. What size shoe do you wear? 15… Don’t call me yeti fer nothin’.

2. How many pairs of shoes do you own? 3, four if you count my Godzilla slippers

3. What type of shoes do you prefer? off, and in my closet. If I must, sandals. Hiking boots if doing anything challenging.

4. Describe your favorite pair of shoes. My brown birks. Worn to death, and I’ve cherished every step in ’em.

5. What’s the most you have ever spent on a pair of shoes? $250ish… Custom Shoes for giant-feet can be a pain when getting dressy stuff.

Random Scotto factoid… I like the old cartoon cliché of capturing mischievous ghosts with vacuum cleaners.

There’s more to Florida tourist traps other than Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, and Sea World… there’s a boatload of lost and little known second-string tourist attractions. Man… I’m about thirty years too late for pirates world., right around the corner from me… along with Pioneer City.

The locations of the shootings yesterday in Montgomery County. Yikes.

On that note, I think it’s time for a refreshing shower, some nag champa, and a nice book…. Fuzzy Newt-nuzzles, and my sweetheart in my heart as I read to her.

Nighters, if I don’t see you beforehand, dear journal.

p.s. – New Semagic. – (thanks for the clue-in, annalytical!)

Home connection to the Internet is sporadic… it’s odd, watching my chat-connections pop up and then fall down on trillian for aim, icq, msn, and yahoo. Must be something wacky going on with my service.

I can get to some websites, but not others. (Google is sometimes allowing me to search, sometimes it’s forbidden.)

Update – it seeps to have become stable, but looking at this morning’s connection logs shows that it took quite a while to do so.

The name game

internet was down all day today at work.. still down now. hopefully it’ll return by Monday midday, with the new drive and router.

Lots of politics happening there… but I think it’ll end well.

Tomorrow, midday, I’m going to a birthday lunch/dinner probably won’t go too late…. long enough for pizza and a movie, I think. I hope that whatever DVD gets picked is one I’ve not seen in a while.

Thinking about my beloved… she makes me happy, deep within my heart.

I’ll play the Friday five –

woke up this morn, no soreness at all, but a trifle groggy. that cleared up about five or ten minutes afterwards… but by the time I’d shaken the cobs free, it seems that last night’s dreams also departed, too. only fragment I remember was redesigning something… maybe making a toy or a model.. something with my hands.

Newtcam!
potato chip amphitheatre is mostly obscured by three brown columns… strange to see a crane hanging down into the image.. like a skyhook, attached to nothing. Not rainy today, yet.

How gullible are you? I got two questions wrong. (The Toilet one… and Chabungungamung Pond.)

I want to implement this on my homepage, in a guestbook. a more permanent guestmap.

I’m the thidmost southern member!

Ack… bounceout for the palm.… I thought palm bejeweled was evil. See also runes and asteria… not to mention the version of newton’s nightmare that I revised for the palm. (no relation to this one) and atum.

Random Scotto factoids – I have *never* lost a sock in the line of laundry duty. When I worked at the bookstore, and vacuumed up in the morning, I could get the entire morning crew to sing with me. Two or three girls (or falsetto boys) would do ewww…. ahhh-awh ah-ahh, while one guy would do the baseline. Usually Adrian, if he was in. “doom-doom doom”

Meanwhile, I would run the vacuum over the carpet, and sing: (the kids would chime in at the Underdog Chorus… italicized.)

There’s no need to fear! Underdog is here!

when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

It would make my whole day.
