Good grief.

I need to start setting my alarm clock. My internal clock is too easily ‘snoozed’ by falling rain.

Both Newt & my gal are sick… Newt from his vaccinations, I imagine, and my love seems to be getting a yucky bug. My poor little babies… I wish that there was something I could do for them to make ’em feel better… Lots of love is all I’ve got to give.

Ah well, I reckon I’d better get ready for work. (I suspect another pointless 5 hours of meetings. *twisted tummy… I just want to do my job in peace, maybe chat online as I do it… is that so wrong?)

I wonder if working for new digital reported pays anything… going to look into that today.

but first, stupid news link of the morning –

Hanssen may have revealed tunnel under embassy

The U.S. government built a secret tunnel under the Soviet Embassy in Washington, a former intelligence official confirmed to NBC News — and its existence may have been betrayed by former FBI agent Robert Philip Hanssen, accused of spying for Moscow.

…Well, if they didn’t know, they do now. πŸ™‚

what?

“That’s why I went to Harlem, because I think I am the first black president,” Clinton responded

That’s a surprise to me…

Well, off to do the 3 S’s, and get the day out of the way.

The Dangers of reading.

A few years ago, I fell asleep reading a new book with my shirt off… when the book dropped, I got a paper cut across my nipple. Needless to say, I woke up quickly… it took me a long time in my freshly induced adrenaline tweak to figure out what happened. I jumped around like daffy duck.”woo woo woo woo”….Trust me. The last thing you want to see is a grown man hopping around in his boxers covering his left nipple and yelping at three in the morning (well, I guess it depends on the person, and the situation… actually. never mind)

I don’t know what inspired me to share, but there you go.

Heavy Petting

“In the 1940s, Kinsey asked twenty thousand Americans about their sexual behavior, and found that 8 percent of males and 3.5 percent of females stated that they had, at some time, had a sexual encounter with an animal. Among men living in rural areas, the figure shot up to 50 percent. “

Mmmmm. A British archaeologist finds evidence that cannibalism still existed amongst the Celts as recently as two thousand years ago, during Roman Times.
One grisly find includes a femur which had been split lengthways in order to scrape the marrow out. Tastemungus! πŸ™‚

more about that new weapon…

The Pentagon on Thursday unveiled a new β€œnon-lethal” weapon designed to drive off an adversary with an energy beam that inflicts pain without causing lasting harm.

Keeno beeno tech – 3-d fax-printing

Space is no place for a helpful hardware store. So an astronaut is in a pretty tight spot when the doohickey on the manifold breaks and the nearest replacement is 220 miles away-straight down. Roger Spielman thinks he has an answer. Spielman is quite literally a rocket scientist for Boeing Canoga Park-formerly Rocketdyne-and he and his brethren are on the brink of a solution so simple you’d expect to find it in a cartoon.

Fax it. That’s right, fax the part, then print it. Send a 3D computer-assisted design file to the International Space Station, where Interplanet Janet feeds the data into a machine that assembles the part from a bucket of powder in about a half-hour.

Nifty! πŸ™‚ I love junk like that.

Looks like my Maryland pals are getting snowy rain tomorrow, and regular snowy snow on Monday!

Bundle up, kids!

Happy Birfday,mtffm!!!

And now, the News.

Ugh.. got my chores out of the way. (save for laundry. that happens tomorrow AM)… I’m pooped.

got some lovely fresh dress clothes for interviewing, launched a few resumes, and am currently surfing in earnest to find another gig. enough is enough. After yesterday’s meetings, I know n my heart that I have no interest in a future with the company, let alone actually *having* a future with it.

Got some great Groceries, took Newt to the vet. d’oh. Just remembered, I forgot to buy a dress belt. (Heck, I’m even going to interview with shoes instead of sandals.)

Newtie’s doing well, although he hissed at the vet once the third shot was given… yearly checkup, and vaccination vs feline distemper, rabies, etc.

Had fun with my sweetie playing dueling cams last night…. filters and logos, primarily, although she’s quite good at doing textures in photoshop. We swapped some graphics…she’s used one to make a new icon (hubba hubba), and I’m really enjoying the tribal pattern myself. πŸ™‚ most spiffy. She made an oddball asian/cutout/thingie that’s really nifty too…perhaps she’ll post them sometime. πŸ™‚

Newt loves when I go clothes-shopping, because it means I bring home big honking bags for him to play in, before they get recycled. He’s currently hiding in one now, listening to the walls crinkle.

More posts to follow… making up for yesterday’s lost time.
