Twenty years ago, plus? My Livejournal was created over two decades ago. My original online journal actually started a bit before that, but prior to this account I was wrangling with doing it manually, and at the time it was a huge pain in the butt. I still crosspost stuff there as a backup, and to interact with the few original gang that I haven’t seen transition to other social media.

Noboto Ivorinium

Cute little dude. About a head shorter than most glyos guys. Nice semipearlescent sort of plastic, with only minor painted eyes on the heads. Probably tampo rather than hand painted. Additional head is #Protoclone, newer toys have a more skrull-like pointy eared Quallerran.

19 parts, including a thin neck ring, belt and backpack which are nice details and filler.
I am not sure which head I prefer. The variance is slight, but definitely different. I can see why they went with a more dramatically alternate head later.
Finished season 5 of the good witch. Catching up with Brooklyn nine-nine on Hulu. Up to 2016 so far.
Allison made a gallette with broccolini, garlic bulbs, chard and goat cheese for dinner. the first I ever had, and it was delicious!

Neo Zeroid robo force protector

Neo Zeroid robo force protector

White with black paint accents, 16 pieces

Some fun examples of how the parts can be reconfigured from the wiki with white backgrounds)

Pretty versatile toy. Block and pipe shapes allow for a lot of fiddling.

Rearranged it a number of times while watching “The wrong Missy” with Mrs and Pye on the couch last night. Very stupid-funny movie with a couple of good slapstick moments.

Dead Guy – Roman, c. 300 BCE, terra cotta

Part of a tableau depicting a battle between the Greeks and the Amazons.  Photo by Charles Reeza at the Museum of Art and History, Geneva.

People have been fooling with little toy soldiers and civilians for a while now.
That booty just makes me laugh. I can’t help but wonder if one of the other figures had a tiny arrow or three in them. (I know if I had made a tableau, at least one of them would have an arrow in the rump.) That shoulder blade hole would hold a weapon nicely. #toyphotography

Callgrim The Order and warp pack.
I am unsure which specific wave this is from, because there are a lot of different types of theses dudes out there. If any members of the glyos gang out there can help, I would appreciate it! I didn’t have much luck in this case with the wiki or Rawshark’s I’d page. Maybe it was dyed by the previous owner?

Plastic is less brittle, a little more pliable, like a classic star wars figure. It has memory and returns to shape pretty quickly.
25 pieces total, a lot of attention to paint on the lines of the figure in a dark blue / indigo too match the head, gloves and boots. Reminds me a bit of a skeleton in hockey gear.
He came with a warp gear pack, which is 8 of the pieces, including 2 that could be alternate heads.

Azure Pterosaurian

Name is probably a nod to dragon ball z: kakarot, and that dactyl head is keen, but I can’t resist the Octopus / Cthulhu alternate noggin. This is currently my only figure with this “demon” mold set and my only opaque blue. Six heads, each more villainous than the next, including a skull, bat, hood, horned demon, the aforementioned Pterodactyl, and Cthulhu. Included wings can be affixed to the back (or and comfy glyos location, it has a switch pin for male or female attachment) Nice paint details in light blue, red, orange, gray and chrome. Comes with creature feet (and alternate boots), a battle axe and broadsword. I enjoy this colorway, and might look for a more sinister color, like dark green, tan, black, or maybe even an ivory white as an alternate, given the different heads. #Battletribes #Wave12 #Glyos #Spymonkeycreations #Onelldesigns #Dragonballz #Kakarot #toyphotography

Speed racer game

Random though just came to mind.

I remember my local arcade had the Namco Speed Racer game.

Sit down driving game with a steering wheel with all the buttons like the cartoon. I am ready for a console / pc reboot of this. 2 player with speed and racer x missions would just be dandy if done well.

Snake eyes redux

Dark ninja configured somewhere between it’s double homages to GI Joe’s Snake-eyes and Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos. Love the new sculpts! The heads and boots assortment is fun, and gi-style torso makes for a nice addition. Giving them a couple of martial arts weapons was quite welcome, too. Red bo staff, nunchuck and sai, and fully painted pair of swords. The nifty belt/sword holster/loincloth flap thing is *very snug* but is easily loosened with a soak in warm water or a warming blow from a hair dryer, and a small sword holder pin fits nicely on the back as well. (Not a scabbard, but a loop) I was not as big into ninja guys as my peers as a kid, but martial arts movies and comics were a big part of my entertainment diet for quite a while. When I was 12 or so, that is pretty prime fun zone stuff. My brother was more into GI Joe figures than I was, but I dug the comics. I’d say it was a bonding experience of common interests, seeing as later on we grew to have fairly different tastes. I remember when we sent away for classic all-black Snake-eyes back in the good old / bad old times in Boynton Beach, about 82 or so. (He shared many parts with other figures of that series, except for his unique head sculpt. He was designed to save Hasbro money in the paint application process, as his first figure was made of black plastic with no paint applied for details, and his head did not require any detail because of the mask.) But it made him pretty cool as a toy, because a good guy ninja all in black was a fairly new concept to us. #Battletribes #spymonkeycreations #Onelldesigns #glyos #glyosbuild #toyphotography #wave21 #ramble
