The Appalachian Mountains are literally older than trees, with Appalachia being 480 million years old and the first trees appearing 350 million years ago.

Everyone wants there to be a grand scheme behind all of this but the terrible truth is that extremely stupid people are in charge and they have a fanatical devotion to wrong, childlike concepts of society and economics cooked up by right wing radio hosts in order to sell tainted dietary supplements.

Another sign that I’m getting more grizzled as I age – I refer to my doctor as a sawbones.

Pteruges formed a defensive skirt of leather or multi-layered fabric (linen) strips or lappets worn hanging from the waists of Roman and Greek cuirasses of warriors and soldiers, defending the hips and thighs.
