Day 20,180 May the fourth be with you! (And happy Dave Brubeck day!) My wife and I hit the farmers’ market today. We got some spicy greens, lovely bread, bagels, and croissants from @blacksburgbagels, a chai and coffee from @roanokecoffee, and “chicken” and French toast for me, and avocado toast for her at @queensvegancafe. The big win was a cool-looking “octopus tentacle sucker”-designed cup and a tiny tasting bowl for @pearlsquirrel from @ishadevinepottery. She absolutely loves it and the tissue used to package them. It seems like the man vs. bear debate is making a comeback and entering the mainstream consciousness, at least for a brief period. Women share their reasons for feeling safer encountering a bear in the forest than an unfamiliar man. This hypothetical situation has ignited a broader discussion about the underlying reasons for women’s fear of men. I came across a meme that combined the themes of Doctor Doom and bears, and I decided to participate in the trend. To be honest, I also side with the bears, naturally. Humans are a far more dangerous species.

Stayed in today; my back was acting up pretty fiercely. Yummy French toast strata for breakfast, and pad Thai noodles with veggies and some Impossible burger stir-fry for supper.
