So, yesterday was a bit of a dud. It was ok, but nothing stellar. Today on the other hand was downright lovely. Allison took the inlaws and me to have #penguinencounters at the @marylandzoo . Amongst other things, Zookeeper Tammy gave a very informative talk with q&a about the penguins there and in general… and we got lessons on how to interact with African penguins, including how to pet the ones that are brought to schools and other sites for educational enrichment. (The ones that are more wild in the hatchery are another situation entirely). Long story short, I got to pet a half dozen penguins with my family. Win. #allforanimals

Pyewacket is granted a rare boon of drinking from a cup in the kitchen sink. My birthday started pretty rough, got better, turned a bit south at dinnertime when my food was gross, then ascended again after going to third eye followed arrival home to wife and kitty snugs. It was nice to be with loved ones anyhow. Loot-wise, I got some filament for the 3d printer, a wood engraving tool, two new games and two nice cards.
