Days after our first encounter with the tiny resin ducks, Sisto and I returned to the old house to explore it further. We were surprised to find that the ducks had multiplied! They were everywhere – on the floor, on the shelves, even in the cupboards.
As we looked around, we couldn’t help but feel like we were being watched. The air was thick with an eerie silence that made our skin crawl. We couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
Suddenly, we heard a faint quacking sound coming from somewhere deep within the house. It was as if the ducks were trying to tell us something. But what?
We followed the sound and found ourselves in a small room at the back of the house. The room was filled with tiny resin ducks – hundreds of them! They were arranged in neat rows on shelves that lined the walls.
We couldn’t believe our eyes. What was going on here? Were the ghosts trying to tell us something? Or were they just playing a prank on us?
We couldn’t resist collecting more of these tiny ducks as we continued our exploration. But as we left the house that day, we couldn’t help but feel like we had uncovered something special. Something that would stay with us for a long time to come.
Join me and Crafsman as we talk about life, craftin’, YouTube comments, music, and more. Crafsman cracks me up more than once in this episode. He’s the king of subtle humor. : )
Pearl discovers that Virginia, too, has squirrels. Even more distressing, they have allies in the local Brown Thrasher population! She will remain ever vigilant, or at least until she grows bored of them.
“Last night was a chilling adventure! 😱👻 Sisto and I decided to spend the night at this haunted house on the outskirts of town. The vibes were so eerie, and we heard whispers in the air! But the real terror began when we started finding these little resin ducks all over the place! 🦆🔍 They kept moving around when we weren’t looking, as if the ghost was playing a game with us! 😱😨 We tried to capture everything on camera, but the footage came out distorted! We barely slept, and as soon as dawn approached, we ran out of there! 😅🏃♂️ Still trying to process what happened, but some mysteries are best left unsolved! 😬”
I’m writing this entry with trembling hands, still reeling from the spine-chilling events that unfolded last night. Sisto and I made the daring decision to spend the night in the haunted house on the outskirts of town, and it turned out to be an experience straight out of a horror movie.
As soon as we stepped into the house, we were greeted by a bone-chilling coldness that seemed to seep into our very souls. The air was heavy with an oppressive aura, and we could hear faint whispers echoing through the halls, sending shivers down our spines. But we were determined to brave the night and uncover the truth behind the ghostly rumors.
We set up our sleeping bags in the living room, our flashlights casting eerie shadows on the walls. The only source of light in the house was the faint moonlight filtering through the boarded-up windows. We tried to keep our nerves in check as we shared ghost stories, but our unease grew with each passing moment.
That’s when we heard it – a soft tapping sound coming from the corner of the room. We trained our flashlights towards the source, and our hearts skipped a beat. There, on the floor, was a small resin duck. It hadn’t been there before, and we couldn’t explain how it had appeared. Our minds raced with questions, but before we could wrap our heads around it, we heard another sound, this time from upstairs.
We cautiously made our way up the creaky staircase, our flashlights flickering ominously. As we reached the top, we froze in terror. The ducks were multiplying. They were everywhere – on the windowsills, on the shelves, even perched on the walls. It was as if the ghost was taunting us, playing a sinister game with us.
We tried to rationalize what was happening, but logic seemed to have abandoned us. We were trapped in a nightmare, unable to comprehend the inexplicable events unfolding around us. We could feel a malevolent presence lurking in the shadows, watching our every move. Our nerves were frayed, and we were on edge, constantly expecting something to jump out at us.
The night dragged on, and we were too scared to sleep. We could barely muster the courage to move, fearing what we might encounter next. The ducks continued to appear and disappear, moving around the house as if guided by an unseen force. We tried to capture evidence with our cameras, but the footage came out distorted, adding to our growing sense of dread.
As the first light of dawn approached, we couldn’t bear the tension any longer. We gathered our belongings and practically sprinted out of the house, leaving the haunting presence behind. As we looked back, we saw the ducks lined up on the windowsill, almost mocking us with their silent gaze.
Sisto and I stumbled out of the house, our hearts pounding in our chests. We were relieved to have escaped the horrors of that haunted place, but the ordeal had left us with more questions than answers. What had we encountered in that house? Who or what was behind the mysterious resin ducks?
I’m still grappling with the events of that fateful night, trying to make sense of the inexplicable. It was a harrowing experience that will haunt me for a long time to come. Sisto and I share an unspoken understanding of what we went through, and we both know that some mysteries are best left unsolved.
I can’t help but wonder how much AI will be used to create false cryptid images in the future, now that it is as easy as asking it to produce something like “photoproof of giant lake creature in the early 1900s.”
The fact that almost every phone has a camera is no longer enough to guarantee good evidence, when every phone can also produce wholly imaginary, yet realistic results.
My first meal in our happy hut was quite a fast food feast, a double impossible whopper with cheese, pickle, ketchup and mayo, a can of Dr. Pepper Zero from the fridge, large Burger King onion rings and a large McDonald’s fries. (Paw and Maw Brr hit McDonald’s, as it is not far from the BK. Sadly, or possibly fortunately for me, the shake machine was broken, so no Shamrock, Oreo Strawberry or Chocolate goodness for me… this time.)
Howdy folks, it’s me, the Old Man on Little Brushy Mountain, scribbling down some tales from our new homestead. We’ve finally settled in this neck of the woods, and life’s been mighty interesting so far!
First things first, we had to make sure our home is safe from radon, which is quite common in these parts. So, we called in a local mitigation company to test and make sure our cabin is free from this sneaky vapor. After all, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer after cigarettes, and we aren’t taking any chances with our health, if we can help it!
Now, let me tell ya about my first meal in our cozy little hut. I went all out with a fast food feast! I chowed down on a double impossible whopper with all the fixins – cheese, pickle, ketchup, and mayo. Washed it all down with a can of Dr. Pepper Zero from the fridge. And to top it off, I had some Burger King onion rings and a heapin’ plate of McDonald’s fries. Paw and Maw Brr went to McDonald’s too, since it ain’t too far from the BK. But dang it, wouldn’t ya know it, the shake machine was broken! So, no Shamrock, Oreo, Strawberry, or Chocolate goodness for me this time. Guess I’ll have to keep my milkshake dreams alive for another day!
Oh, and speaking of our neighbors, we’ve got quite a cast of characters here on Little Brushy Mountain. There’s Mrs. Bear, who’s always prowlin’ around and up to shenanigans, not unlike Madcat Pearl, the mischievous feline who’s always into something. Let me tell ya, Paw and Maw Brr are quite the pair too, always keepin’ me on my toes with their doings. But hey, life wouldn’t be half as fun without ’em! Also of note were the Venison Sisters (5 young deer we saw today just up the way), and the first visit from soon to retire school marm Ann, who saw us loading up the house and introduced herself. I should also mention the wandering ball-men seeking to recover lost treasures from the grassy moat that surrounds us all.
Well, that’s it for now, folks. I’ll be sure to keep y’all posted on the happenings here on Little Brushy Mountain. ‘Til next time, keep smilin’ and enjoyin’ life’s little quirks!
