Cool weather until the sun came out from behind the clouds.

#bogsafari critter count – mostly birds again. A bald eagle, an osprey, a few bluejays and a broad assortment of songbirds (who were heard not not seen). Also heard was a redwing blackbird… that call is very distinct.

Leaf cover is even more dense than before… parts of the swamp have a really lovely shade happening now. I want to hit the cypress swamp now and roam out there sometime soon… maybe this week?

Grapes are coming in! Super tiny now, they will be tasty juice balloons around the first week in August. Top are the Concord / purple style, bottom will be green grapes. The weather has really prompted good growth this year. No trouble with bugs or bunnies yet, either.

Hot today, this morning it was feeling like the mid 80sF.

#bogsafari- saw WR bringing home another sweet short term corgi foster. We chatted at range for a few minutes. Other critters seen were a few distant pedestrians with dogs. Once in the swamp proper, there was a host of insects and songbirds. Hopefully the latter will keep the former in reasonable numbers. Leaf cover is dandy for shade but is to the point where it cuts wind considerably.

Looks like the pothead kids left some trash behind. I recognize the drink bottles and they are right where they were sitting last time I saw them. I should bring a garbage bag on my next walk, along with a nail on a stick.
