Speed racer game
Random though just came to mind.
I remember my local arcade had the Namco Speed Racer game.
Sit down driving game with a steering wheel with all the buttons like the cartoon. I am ready for a console / pc reboot of this. 2 player with speed and racer x missions would just be dandy if done well.
Snake eyes redux
Dark ninja configured somewhere between it’s double homages to GI Joe’s Snake-eyes and Chuck Norris Karate Kommandos. Love the new sculpts! The heads and boots assortment is fun, and gi-style torso makes for a nice addition. Giving them a couple of martial arts weapons was quite welcome, too. Red bo staff, nunchuck and sai, and fully painted pair of swords. The nifty belt/sword holster/loincloth flap thing is *very snug* but is easily loosened with a soak in warm water or a warming blow from a hair dryer, and a small sword holder pin fits nicely on the back as well. (Not a scabbard, but a loop) I was not as big into ninja guys as my peers as a kid, but martial arts movies and comics were a big part of my entertainment diet for quite a while. When I was 12 or so, that is pretty prime fun zone stuff. My brother was more into GI Joe figures than I was, but I dug the comics. I’d say it was a bonding experience of common interests, seeing as later on we grew to have fairly different tastes. I remember when we sent away for classic all-black Snake-eyes back in the good old / bad old times in Boynton Beach, about 82 or so. (He shared many parts with other figures of that series, except for his unique head sculpt. He was designed to save Hasbro money in the paint application process, as his first figure was made of black plastic with no paint applied for details, and his head did not require any detail because of the mask.) Elite Gohlem – Toro, captain of the empyrean elite guard, the Gearo last line of defense!
I really just love me some Gohlems. hard to see via my potato phone camera in this light, but it is quite pearlescent in the sun. The solid red makes a difference between him and the red and steel pearlized “Optimus Primealike” of Empyreus 2.0
29 parts total, with the usual excellent black paint detail in faces and chest crest / square inserts.
Comes with the usual alternate heads, scythe and straight blade weapons.

Unpacked some goodies out of quarantine mail. A bundle of Bog-nars and a pair of Phaseon robots comprise a lovely team of green sourced through the glyos exchange.
I am a big fan of Bog-Nar, a nice hybrid of Swamp Thing and Man-thing. The alternate fish-man Gol / zombie nekroid noggins make for excellent use of the colorway.

Swamp walk was cut short… I made it to the wetlands… Twice. I had to turn my loop around at the 3/4 point because someone one the street where I walk was having an outdoor picnic party with about 20 people (maybe a dozen children and about 10 adults in view) having a good old time splashing and running around, drinking, generally socializing and apparently ignoring the fact that there is a seriously contagious disease happening to the planet right now. No masks in sight. As soon as I realized what was up, I did an about face and headed home. I really hope that those folks don’t hurt anyone as a result of carelessness or idiocy.
I saw an old couple on the porch of one of the nearby homes that have a Confederate flag on the pole out front. (Three houses on the loop have that loathesome decor, sadly.) Non-vulgar creatures spotted were several turkey vultures, a grey and white cat, a grumpy little yard dog, 3 squirrels, and something splashing in the water… Turtle or fish likely.

Had my first ice cream bar since well before the quarantine. This is my frankenbuild interpretive dance of how that feels.
Man, it is so good. I could feel the chocolate fudge-coated vanilla goodness in ever capillary and nerve endings. I love me some ice cream on the easiest of days, and this week has been rough.
