Quarantine / Social isolation day 181

White grapes are growing like gangbusters, two of the eight vines are really showing off as overachievers.

Pyewacket is behaving well, but his habit of waking me up an average of thrice nightly is a bit of a hassle. I don’t mind too much, but it would be great to get at least six hours of sleep a day, preferably in a row on occasion.

Lungs have been fair, but not great lately. Thankful that I have a good cache of nebulizer meds stored.

It occurs to me that I have only entered and left two buildings in the last six months, one of which is my home, the other is my in-laws place. I wonder if this is the longest amount of time in my life that I have been outside of all other structures? I am very fortunate in that drugstores are drive through and grocery has mail or curb service, given the vulnerability of myself and my family.

Heavy rain has prohibited much swampwalking this week so far, just yard squirrels and the odd frog in the culvert have appeared recently, but I did see a bald eagle steal a fish from an osprey while both were in flight yesterday.

I think that if the weather clears up a little, grilling veggie burgers is dinner.

Quarantine / social isolation day 173

Pye curled up and snoozing on his avocado toast blanket between Mrs and me, in easy petting reach of both of us. He makes a sweet little “mrrrp” trill when I rub behind his ears or under his chin.

Ventured out to the in-laws, for homemade pizza with homemade chocolate ice cream for dessert. Our cars are still on the same tanks of gas from mid March, but one is about 40 miles to empty, bad the other has about three times that distance left.

Weather this morning was in the low 60s when I first got up, but too creaky for a swampwalk. I may try and trot out there still before it gets too hot.

53 days until Halloween.

What is a favorite Halloween movie of yours?

My family loves spooky and not so spooky stuff of all stripes, I will just list off the first ten movies leap to mind when I think of Halloween, in no particular order.

Night of the Living Dead
Practical Magic
Hocus Pocus
Night Watch
Godzilla / Kaiju flicks
Ghostbusters
What we do in the Shadows
City of Lost Children
Alien
Addams Family

I like scarier, creepier and gorier stuff too… But they don’t have the replay value that lighter fare does for me.
