I looked, and the age of consent is 16 in Maine, so even though completely gross and skeevy to me, technically legal.
My first thought is that he is a disgusting groomer, though. They have been hanging out as “friends” since she was 15, and he was 41, though “they didn’t start dating until she was 18”.
It appears to me that someone failed to protect this girl as a child and she fell victim to a predator.
This isn’t kink shaming, or just yucking someone’s yum. This looks like a child that got into a relationship with a fully grown man.
I was a child advocate for too many years to stomach this sort of garbage.
