Mostly speaking through pictures this evening – before heading out tonight, I got my allergy shots, had a haircut at the local barber ($10!) and a lunch of mixed media in Deale – between the in-laws, BHK and I, we had White pizza with carrot, broccoli and asparagus / california roll / hush puppies / a hamburger & fries / fired mushrooms / veggie lo mein.

Hush puppies were the clear winner for me.

Headed back home to get ready for the party – black suit, purple shirt and tie, the requisite beads, and my multi-colored all-stars. BHK wore her green paisley top and purple boots / wrap combo.

Back to Work after the snow day – Busy day scoping out the parameter. BHK isn’t feeling very well today, tummy issues, so a light dinner all around.

Some tummy trouble this morning, and the ol’ back is acting up a smidgen, too. Body did not want to get out of bed this morning, but the brain made it so.

Newt was late coming to bed last night, I tossed and turned quite a bit.

Snow! The neighborhood, Pye playing, and Pye & Newt watching from inside on cam. Pye just loves the snow, but it confuses poor Newt. Clicks embiggen.

A wave of low pressure will continue to bring snow and sleet to the area today. A brief lull in the precipitation is expected this afternoon… before a second stronger low pressure wave will bring a wintry mix of precipitation tonight and Wednesday. Precipitation will be mainly in the form of snow and sleet this evening… but a change over to freezing rain and rain is expected overnight as warmer air is drawn into the system. Temperatures will remain in the lower 30s Wednesday allowing for the rain to freeze on some surfaces.

Total snow and sleet accumulations through Tuesday night will be 2 to 4 inches and total ice accumulations for Tuesday night through Wednesday morning will be one to two tenths of an inch.

Didn’t get together with Todd today – the weather was too bad to drive to meet him. We made it home ok – all of the soft poweder of the morning had a layer of slick ice over the top of it. I’m glad that we managed to see him yesterday! It sounds like he had a good time checking out the monuments – I’m sure that they were extra nifty-looking with the layers of snow everywhere.

Had Pigs in Blankets for dinner, with string beans on the side. pretty nummy!

Watched some Psych (Sort of lackluster episode about firemen/arsonists) and part of The Beast before hitting the sack – until later, dear journal!

Went to hospital for a gut – check – Doc gave me meds, and prescribed an Upper GI / sonogram. Digestive tract is treating me mean – but now I have some meds to tide me over. Sonogram tomorrow, Upper GI next week. Also got Allergy shots today, since I was in the area, and work told me that I didn’t have to come in.

Stopped at the library – got boom blox for the wii- cute, but not a purchase. one night was enough.

BHK made some tasty soup! pot pie squares (noodles), broccolii, cabbage, peas, carrots, celery veggie "beef" stock. really good.

To make up for a lack of content – have a picture of Newton sunning in the window, watching the starlings outside

Slow, lazy day today. We slept extra late, napped while watching Pick of Destiny, went to Aardvark’s, said hi to Shaun, Margaret, and Mike, picked up a few video tapes for 4 bits apiece, I had a bit of a blackout/tunnel vision event that I’m chalking up to low blood sugar for now (recovered after swigging a coke) , and then headed off to Mexico for a bite of supper.

When we got home, we snuggled up again like happy little bugs in a rug and watched the inauguration concert on the boob tube.

Friday at last. Got a long weekend ahead of me – but I’ve got a couple of issues I’ve got to tend to before I fully relax. Two things for work to get in alignment – Wednesday will have to go for it! 4 day weekend ahead. Part of it will be spent celebrating the new prez, but most of it will be just relaxing. I’ll see if BHK wants to go on a little date maybe, too.

Low today of 7 degrees Fahrenheit. (High of 22). If it’s going to be this cold, it could at least snow, but it is as sunny as can be.

Trimmed back the beard – may return to goatee on the weekend. It’s really good at fighting the cold, though.

Rest in Peace, #6 and Mr. Roarke. I hope the new islands suit you both, glad you spent so much time on this one.

Beware the 13th!

Sick as a very sick dog. Got as far as the Metro station, and turned around and went home as I started hacking like a plague victim. BHK spun me around and home we went. Coughing due to infection blended with poor lungs in the bitter cold and firewood smoke, I think.

Slept most of the day. Ate some noodle soup, saltines, and a lot of ginger ale.

Eyes too tired to read – drained the Tivo remaining Dr. Who episodes. I liked the evil "shadow monster in the library planet" episode – fun, goofy, but spooky and sad, too.

Newton, Pye and BHK are all excellent caretakers while I’m a big sick baby.

Chris’s Merto car conked out – (re-parked with the ignition on) BHK got her from the metro prior to my pickup. She couldn’t reach Larry – his cellpohne was turned off. As a result, Chris came with us to dinner with Tina, at Mexico.

Supper was good, we all chit-chatted a bit – Tina’s going to the inauguration – I’m passing – too crowded and mobby for me. Best to just stay home and enjoy coverage via the news while I relax in my jammies.

Newton leaping down from his perch – BHK relocated Pyecam for a more worm’s eye view. Newtcam seems less active these days – time to open the windows, maybe.

I got to skip shots today! BHK and I pretty much just took it easy. We watched a good bit of TV – The first and second "Librarian" movies – cute for made for TNT flicks. We still have the third on the recorder. I also watched an episode of Freakylinks – forgot how inspired by Blair Witch the show was. I may or may not watch the remaining episodes, depending on how much shaky-cam film style I can take.

Ear ache is really rough today, but the compresses improve matters a *lot*.

Pictures are of a model house burning down at the local motorcylce store’s train display (the same one with the squirrels) – not to woory – this model is designed to look like it’s burning down, complete with smoke and lights.

BHK spent the day polishing off our shopping, I think we’re about done!

We hit Thursday’s after work – food was a bit on the weak side – probably will take some time before going back.

Came home and mostly caught up with chores – I played a smidgen of fallout 3, folded the whites, while BHK got the xmas stragglers online.

Updside of cool weather, the kitties extra snugglesome.

We still haven’t finished putting up the tree – lights are on, but ornaments and garland are still in boxes. Likely to happen next weekend, or during the week if there is a slow patch. I need to put together the orange juice car, too – and move pyecam downstairs for kitty/christmas pov video.

We also got a nativity set at the same time we picked up the tree.

We went over to the in-laws for pancake breakfast after sleeping in nicely this morning. I had a bit of an allergy attack, had to head home – did some work-work stuff, folded some laundry and put lights on the tree while BHK did household work and made use quiche with cheese, veggie sausage and green peas… and some veggie sausage-biscuit balls, too. *VERY* tasty and hearty fare. The in-laws came over too, and we just hung out and chitty-chatted – watched some old episodes of Newheart and the Honeymooners on WGN – The in-laws are out the door now, and BHK is sleeping on my lap… but now it’s time for bed.

Cams caught him upstairs and downstairs at about the same time. Pyewacket, however, is nowhere to be found on video. Phantom Kitty skulks in the shadows. Newt seems to perk up in the cooler weather! Only a matter of time before he starts licking condensation off of the windows.
