7473 – email palm post 06-22-05

slight ringing in my ears, due to the large amount of silence. no overhead
lights, no computer fans, just the noise of being inside the browned-out
office.

the power has been off since about 9am… it is now 12:37. the ETA for a
return was 12:30.

upside, I got my desk straightened, downside, a bit behind on updating web
and a lot of police paperwork.

i really need to configure a good multi-user video conferencing system
between here, New York, and Indiana. that’ll be a to-do for next week, too.

short week next week… taking 7/1-7/4 off, just to burn some vacation time
before it expires in August. i should plan a proper vacation for next year.

thank goodness that it’s so overcast… if it were sunny, it’d be an oven in
here.

i think it’s sort of silly to keep the office fully staffed… only one
phone available, main number is forwarded to my cellular.

i guess this is good hurricane drill training for the fpl guys.

Humpty-hump. The week is going by both swiftly and slowly in turns.

I’ve been using my spoiler highlighter a lot lately.

Got Season 2, Episode 12 of JLU. Divided We Fall, Lots of good moments – “Begone”, etc. Worst moment, integrating 3-d cgi models into the show… it’s not needed and is pointlessly distracting. The last episode of the season, unless they have a puff piece one-shot for #13. Vimoh got lucky… no cliffhanger after all. 12 episodes rather than last season’s 13?

Spoilers: Nice use of how Brainiac was just a green Lex Luthor, really. Good Psychological Warfare using the Justice Lords. Awesome use of the speed force with Wally. Groovy Proof of purpose at the end, and The change of JLU from being an army in an ivory tower to a more approachable crew. Embassies. Wide open for a JLI season 3. I liked that they fell back on the classic League crew to sew up the end, and Green Arrow’s speech was solid.

Actually, If you must watch one preview, watch the opening Credits for ElectraWoman and DynaGirl. Frank was a lucky man. Tarantulas! Rattlesnakes! Tigers! Sonic Blasts destroying snifters of brandy! Scary Rock-and-roll villains with a green afro! (His name was Glitter Rock.)

I won’t be attending the Bibleman show… but maybe I’ll go check out what sort of crowd it collects.

I’ve been really sleepy these last two weeks. Not sure what’s up with that.. physically tired. Summertime blues? Usually I have a good charge to my batteries… maybe it’s the rain.
