8437 – Monday off, bayyyybeee!
Lately, the weather is proper rainy season fare – warm and humid, dense, moist atmosphere even when the water falls from the sky. All you need for a soothing shower would be a bar of soap and some privacy.
I’ve been feeling like it’s time for a change. Something simple, even like getting that haircut that I dodged a month or so back. As long as I don’t have to use a lot of product, I’d probably be ok with short hair.(after a period of shock adjustment)
Why is it so much more acceptable for a stranger to try and bum a cigarette off of someone else (even if they’re not currently smoking… or even holding a pack of cigs), rather than say, a stick of gum? does the addiction make the beggar more brave, or maybe the social side of smoking is the thing.
Yesterday, I went to breakfast and see superman with Tina – had a nice time, and I think that I enjoyed the movie more the second go. Going to put plans in motion to maybe get Danny and Tina to go see pirates after my journey to the keys.
We visited the Victoria park diner, 17th day open. cash register receipts still read “Miami Subs”. The food was reasonable, but big louie’s is better both in quality and cost. On the ride home, I spoke with an employee – the franchise owners are still the same ones that owned the Miami Subs before it was converted. Given the location, I suspect that they can’t help but succeed. (Unlike the archives cafe… which is closing as of 7/7. The place is already mostly boxed up. To be honest, I’m amazed it lasted as long as it did. The “new location” is selling books on ebay from the garage, it seems.
I lovely time gabbing with bhk on the ride to the theater – I’m envious of the fossil-rich environment where she lives.
Monday’s plan is a good walkabout if it’s not too rainy – otherwise, stay in and clear a few more boxes.

8436 – Halfway through the year!
A recent discovery has me happy, curious and a bit nervous. (Something that I should’ve recognized quite some time ago, but my normally perceptive self has a bit of a blind spot when it comes to that sort of thing.)
In other, vaguely related news, I quite enjoy the scent of hickory smoked apple-cured bacon, even if it is really just the freshly-oiled and reanimated Hoff, standing in the sun. Shoo, flies!
I forgot ot mention yesterday that on Friday, Danny and I picked up a pair of “Cursed” Pirate game boosters… hoping fo ra ghost ship or a sea monster. No dice, save for a couple of spooky crewmen… but the ships I did get were pretty keen… a little one-masted pirate ship and a spanish schooner that are both especially good looking and capable. Some of the new crew are impressive, but a bit costly at 7-10 points, depending on what they can do.
I will be buying more packs, because eI really want a kraken or other sea monster to mess with folks.
That’ll teach me to go out on the porch barefoot after the floor is freshly mopped.
Footy-prints in the reflection.

this is the result – music/tv/windchimes on in the background into the dictaphone software.
