arrive din md safe and sound.. bhk and I are weary but unbowed. had a nice supper at the inlaws, and mr newt is adapting to his new environs nicely. hopefully pye-pye will be joining the lot of us here at the hacienda soon.

Last day of packing before venture north… Newt seems to dig his little riding house, and we’ve got most of the supplies we need. Now it’s just a matter of sorting and storing today. BHK and I had a nice time at danny’s yesterday – I cleaned up at balderdash. Janet was pretty good at the fake out definitions, but I won with psychology and knowledge of what a howdah was.
phone is being turned off on 11/30, so if you need my number, email me or post here for it. I still need ot get a book or two from folks I lent to, and so on, but I imagine I’ll pick ’em up on my next visit down, if I don’t get them before I leave.

lunch with Danny, hopefully rest of day packing. been busy busy recently, but after unpacking cpu in Maryland, all should be more steady and fun, entry-wise.
Newt’s going on a 16 hour roadtrip tomorrow or tues (well, 2 of 8 and 8)… we’ll see how he digs it. bhk is covering trash while I pack. Actually, I should be hopping in the shower, so we can get with Dan one more time before I depart.. lots of things this week.. his wedding anniversary, my dad’s birthday, thanksgiving, etc. It’s been a little tough dealing with the loss of my dad and bro lately, especially going through my mementos of them. Sort of disappointed the florida party never took off either, but I suppose I can have a reunion party here when I come back to the condo during off-season.
Sorry entries have been so sparse, but they’ll be back up to speed in less than a week, I suspect.

Coughed my head off after a snootful of newt-fuzz & dust got kicked up while cleaning. Wiped me out most of the evening.. almost went to ER. Tomorrow is my 1-month anniversary.
Last Day at the ACIM office… still will help tech-wise from home if needed for a bit. I still have no idea if the office is full or half day today. I’ll assume full, and be pleasantly surprised if it’s otherwise.
bhk and I are off for a bit of an early drive down the beach before the start of the work day – should be fun!
I still haven’t heard from bro.. it’s been months. TG is traditionally pretty dicey for him, see prior years.
It’s A Bully, Charlie Brown! (or whatever the title was) wasn’t very high on my viewing list… that, and the over-edited thanksgiving special on tv made me thankful for dvd players… and bittorrent.

random photos from yesterday. Sanibel is beautiful, and the shells were pretty dang amazing. we chitty chatted with weez and boop, met weez’s folks, and spent a nice period beach combing before the sun went down. on the way to and back, we saw all sorts of wildlife, especially birds like blue heron, spoonbill and other “storky” sorts, as well as a eyeload of alligators sunning themselves on the banks of the nature sanctuary. the was a fire burning way off in the north… I wonder if it was the cane fields that get slashed and lit periodically? it was a sweet smoke, and pretty particulate.. we both have slightly rough throats this morning as a result. As always, the journey was as swell as the destination. Bhk is a really wonderful traveling companion.

trip to sanibel island and visit with boop and weez went swimmingly…as always, all too brief, but loads of fun.

Lovely day… went to Miami to pick up some bedding supplies before renting out the condo, and then went on the fishing boat with Momster, Wilt, and BHK. After the trip, bhk and I hit flannigans, and went home for an early sleep, because we head to the weezle and boop’s place tomorrow on Sanibel.
highlights were spotting a frigate, discovering kite fishing, and enjoying the ‘hood.

Rough day at work… all I can do is teach the fundamentals, and hope that they catch the details as they go. I’ll be available but not on command 24/7. I fear my protege isn’t taking enough notes, but she is smart… I’ve warned both her and RI about it, and hope the Monday meeting will go well.
The day improved vastly after, got together with Danny and Bhk for tasty Italian food at Marcello’s or Peregrinos or some such.. it was deee-lish.
Later, we did a little LoTR trivial pursuit… Dan’s bad at the movie questions, and is good at all the rest.
