Day 3 of sick bleh

Much better than yesterday, but still rough. I hope Allison doesn’t catch this because it was really wretched yesterday, hot sweats, weak, hives, and just all the usual flu garbage.

Today, I’m a bit better, actually able to eat solids without doing the “return to sender”less weak, operating at about 60% counter to yesterday’s 25%.

I think I hit fever maybe three times yesterday, but only once so far today. Thankful for Nyquil and showers, not to mention Dr. Pyewacket and Nurse Newton.

Two cat man characters from skyrim.
Note, they are also excellent skyrim characters. Pyewacket is a charming thief, and Newton as battle healer.

Hoping to hold down cheese pizza tonight.

Day 2 of being an icky sicky bear

Yesterday was rough but last night and this morning are worse. Sore throat, achy joints, coughing, fatigue,  and it feels like gravity is turned up to 2.5g or so.

Spending about 95% of my time in bed on a heating pad, eating soup and wanting comfort from the Pyewacket and Newton.

Best part is fever dreams, and just sleeping in general.

Too weak to even play video games. That’s pretty dang sick.

With historic tiebreaker from Pence, DeVos confirmed as education secretary – The Washington Post

Well, hell.

The entire Democratic caucus of 48 senators voted against DeVos, as did two Republicans, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska and Susan Collins of Maine, who said they did not think that DeVos was qualified for the job. The remaining 50 Republicans voted for DeVos, setting up a 50-50 tie that Pence broke with his vote at about 12:30 p.m.

It marked the first time that a vice president’s tiebreaking vote was needed to confirm a Cabinet secretary, according to Daniel Holt, an assistant historian in the Senate Historical Office.
