Day 20,070
I think Jack Frost got waylaid by a Wendigo somewhere else in the jetstream. Not a ton of snow here, most of the flakes are little tiny crystals falling just outside of the focus of my eye. No snowman to be built here just yet.
We did catch a little bunny on the back yard camera, and I suspect that it is pretty happy not having a thick bed of white to bounce through in fron to predators.

Looks solid for 1-3 inches of snow tonight through Tuesday. Sounds just right to me. We will stay warm and cozy while enjoying the flakes.
Picked up groceries, so no reason to go out barring unforeseen circumstances.
Pearl is zonked out in bed, after a full day of friskiness. I peeled some potatoes for dinner, and inadvertently also got my right pointer finger too. Nothing needed but a bandage and a little iodine.
Snow is coming this week after all! (Unless things change again)
As always, I want just enough for things to have that little white highlighter look on everything, and not so much as to make life dangerous. Snow is great, black ice I can pass on.
I used to draw this hooded guy on a flying carpet all the time when I was a kid, he would fly around zapping things with magic coming from his hands, or just interact in some way with people in magazine ads or whatever if I was bored and all I had was a magazine or mailing ad laying around while I was talking on the phone or eating breakfast at the table. The fun thing was that since I couldn’t do convincing faces or bodies very well, the robes made up for a lot of errors, and a flying carpet is a lot easier to draw than a weird flying steed of another sort.
I never gave him a consistent name, just “wizard dude on a flying carpet”, and I suppose it really doesn’t have to be a dude, even. On occasion, eyestalks or tentacles would come out of the hood and sleeves, but usually it was just black hands and face area.
On a really slow day, he might shoot a beam at an army of stick figures with polearms far below, turning them into a pillar of smoke and flame.
Day 20,067
Back is bugging me, presently procrastinating on my daily duties by doodling a robot and a little more alliteration than I’d planned for.

I step away from the table for a moment, and I come back to this little maniac shredding napkins.
She knows she isnt allowed up there, but I guess the temptation was just too great. She is sweetly sleeping in the sun room now. I think the cooler weather really has her kicked up into full crazy pants.
Doodle origin – was thinking about freakies cereal today, made me want fruity pebbles. Just drew a quickie while waiting to get ready for a little duck date with Max to Capriottis to try the vegetarian “cheesesteak” and “chicken cheesesteak” sammiches for dinner.
Day 20,065
Today was much the same as yesterday, until 5pm rolled by, when I started experimenting with vectors so I can put my doodles on 3d printed items.
This selfie doodle scales up and down really well, without any noticeable loss of detail. Eventually, I will import it to a 3d model on bambu’s sign maker, and then see if I can print an item out in 8 colors with this design on top. I’ll likely start with 2 colors and see how i can scale it up. If i get it to work simply, i will try to implement it more creatively on 3d items, rather than just a flat surface.

Somehow, I’ve had the song from the ancient Sesame Street cartoon “That’s About the Size” by animator Bud Luckey (the same guy who designed Woody from Toy Story, and a lot of wonderful Pixar stuff)
Today whizzed by, mainly because I slept late due to the old spine and leg hubbub. It was brisk and rainy, but no snow like we had expected.
I made a quick trip to the recycling center to get rid of a ton of cardboard left over from the holidays and spent much of the day sort of just puttering around picking up, walking around the house chasing the cat.
Evening came quickly, and despite our having a lot of excellent lasagna soup left, we opted for a bit of an appetizer dinner of pretzel bites and some caramel popcorn over a few hours of Ugly Betty reruns.
Pearl is especially rowdy this evening, enjoying the devil out of her llama themed tower.
Day 20.062
Mostly relaxing today, tonight I am doodling on the tablet while we watch reruns of The Odd Couple and digest tasty lasagna soup and confetti cake made by my better half.

All this talk about steamboat Willie and Pete being a cat, reminded me rhat there is another famous cartoon in public domain, too, at least the old films!
I quickly drew him into one of my other unfinished scribbles, so now he is enjoying a little river walk down on the Roanoke Greenway!
Our local electronics store had me clear a window from 7am – 7pm today for the delivery of a tv for the red room. About seven hours into that window, they contacted us to say that it isnt coming until the twelfth, seven days from now. I would think that all of those 7s was meaningful if I believed in numerology. I do not, so we are just inconvenienced in an interesting way. I don’t even really mind because I was going to be here all day doing chores anyhow, and the TV probably wouldn’t be mounted until after that.
The first few inches of snow may come tomorrow, and I am looking forward to staying in again and just drinking cocoa, sipping soup, and snuggling close to my favorites (both the Mrs and the Kitty) , since I run warm, and they love that in wintertime.
The sky has been overcast, both white and gray at different times, and weather dropped to the 20s F last night. It got up to the 40s today, but I imagine it will drop again to make a sloppy mix of ice/snow/protoslush tomorrow.
@maximillian_deersteak started some lovely lasagna soup in the crock pot, and it smells awesome right now.
A doodle I drew of myself photographing a big ol’ lizard (in a java version of ms paint had on my website back in the day), and the photo I took with my palmtop Sony clie.
