Printing in super tiny text on d&d size minis, with .2 layer flow and day glow yellow filament makes for a less than optimal visual experience. Maybe if I do it on gray, with a thinner layer size, and possibly black or bright white to fill certain details like the text and skeleton bones? As it is, it looks like a low-detail laffy taffy.

Names on these tests were Scotto, Ray and Kat in different fonts, subtracted and sliced on orca slicer.

Once I get these figured (if I get ’em sussed out), maybe I put them in a place of honor in a gaming graveyard somewhere nice. (I’d like to do versions for all my game group pals from the past… Pam, Rick, James, (not Rick James, though), April, Cathy, Danny, Alex, Trina, Rachel, Renata, Jav, Brian, Mark, Steve, Brent, Dave, Shaun, Allison and whoever else comes to mind. Plenty to fill a boneyard of fun memories. Maybe send a few of them off, too. I still owe folks a skeleton army that I printed up before we moved, and a few other bits and bobs.

So, Sisto is still packed in one of these boxes? I forget, does he breathe? I set him aside for taking pictures, but he got stowed away in the grand sweep of our second pass.

I am unpacking the garage a little more, trying to arrange stuff for comfort and aesthetics. Gets a bit hot in there during the day.

Taking a little break with a popsicle and a cold drink indoors with the AC and these little wooden “stacking stones” 36 nifty little blocks in oddball prism and sort of sarcophagus shapes. They throw me a little dwarven pawn carving vibe for a game that doesn’t exist, yet. (8 big pawns, 16 smaller pawns, and 12 “gems”.)

“Gems” have faces that are either hexagons or pentagons total 21 faces as a long faceted tube .

“Pawns” have 2 square faces on top and bottom, 4 superman chest logo style hexagons, 8 elongated pentagons (4 each alternating fat and thin), and 4 elongated flattened hexagons. For a total of 18 faces. See photo, if my poor description is not helpful.

Jeez, this is terrible weather for a swamp guy like Harold. We need to maybe get some misters around here for him, and maybe just a little box fan and ice maker for me.

Spinmaster Batman vs Swamp thing armory attack batcycle arrived unexpectedly yesterday! Thank you for the treat, @maximillian_deersteak!

Bruce, are you nuts, my guy? Have you ever won a fight with Swampy?

Now, you get style points for the heavily batmanified cycle… I dig the callback to the batmobile on the front, and the bat-tire tread. However, I suspect that it will take more than a dash-mounted crossbow and a couple of missiles to take down a plant elemental. I suspect as a billionaire, you’re doing more to hurt him by hurting the green at large. How much toxic waste is the Wayne foundation’s child corporations dumping illicitly?

The Swamp thing figure comes with a leafy/viney battle-axe, both 4-inch scale figures are extremely well articulated, neck, shoulder, elbow, , thighs, knees, with some 360 and some regular hinges. There is a nice paint and sculpt detail throughout. Batman has a cloth cape, paints are skin tone, all white eyes, gold and silver details with large areas of gray on black plastic. Swampy has a nice range of browns and green paints on a forest green body, with red painted eyes. General sculpt looks a bit like the new 52 design chummed up with maybe a touch of Bruce Timm? Very Burly, not as misshapen as I picture him, but a very fine addition to my recent mob of muck men.

The weapons are set up in a pretty neat modular configuration, can be attached to various ports on the bike and interesting pistol adapter handgrips.

Random Scotto fact – when I was little, I thought Hammerhead was a kind of plant / tree alien.

A long time favorite of mine, because those shifty eyes on that toy just crack me up.

(The name Momaw Nadon wasn’t in my field of vision yet, as it first appeared in 1989, and I had the Hammerhead figure back in ’77 or ’78 )

Here is the caveman version.

Me happy when me come back from walk. Me hold many good things in hand. They not just play things, they old things from long time ago, when me dream big and brave. Me find them in secret place, in dark hole of big rock, where old things live and wait.

The Down Place, as me call it, not just place for funny papers. It is place for see and learn and have fun. The big man, Justyn, he like me. He know many stories and things about old things. He good and fair, he give me good deal for many different things me choose.

Me put them on flat rock, me look at them and like them. There three Green Things, each small like hand, with different faces and ways. There one Star Head, with eyes that move and head that strange. There one Stretchy Man from Food Place, with arms and legs that bend and face that funny. There one Ghost Man from Brave and Bold, with green skin that cover him and white light that shine. And there one Rock Man, the good eye blue eye Thing, with skin that hard and voice that rough.

They meet Harold, he my friend for long time. He watch over House of Shiny Stones, he say hello to new friends with sound that only me understand. He say: “You here good. You like us.”

Me smile, me feel close to these different and weird ones. They like me, me like strange and wonderful things. They not like others, but they have heart and fun. They not make sense or reason, but they have magic and mystery. They not have skin and bone, but they have life and soul.

Me thankful for find them, for find Down Place, for find me there. Me happy for help small place, for give to new friends who welcome me.

I felt a surge of joy as I returned from my afternoon stroll, clutching a bag of treasures that spoke to my inner child. They were not mere toys, but relics of a bygone era, when imagination ran wild and heroes came in all shapes and sizes. I had found them in a hidden gem of a store, tucked away in a corner of the city, where nostalgia reigned supreme and every shelf was an adventure.

The Basement, as it was aptly named, was more than a comic shop. It was a museum, a sanctuary, a playground for the curious and the passionate. The owner, Justyn, was a kindred spirit, who knew the stories and histories of every item in his vast collection. He was generous and fair, offering me a bargain for the eclectic ensemble I had picked out.

I laid them out on my desk, admiring their details and quirks. There were three Swamp Things, each five inches tall, with different expressions and poses. There was a Hammerhead figure from Star Wars, with his shifty eyes and weirdly shaped noggin. There was a Plastic Man from McDonald’s, with his bendy limbs and goofy goggles. There was a Spectre from Brave and the Bold, with his ghostly green cloak and eerie white glow. And there was a mini Ben Grimm, the ever-lovin’ blue-eyed Thing, with his rocky skin and gruff attitude.

They were welcomed by Harold, a long time regular glyos carry-along creature. He was the guardian of the House of Pearls, and welcomed the newcomers with a friendly if unintelligible mumble as if to say: “You belong here. You are one of us.”

I smiled, feeling a connection with these misfits and oddballs. They reminded me of myself, of my love for the strange and the wonderful. They were not as popular or mainstream as some, but they had character and charm. They were not realistic or logical, but they had magic and mystery. They were not flesh and bone, but they had life and soul.

I felt grateful for finding them, for finding The Basement, for finding myself there. I felt happy for supporting a local business, for giving back to the community of which I have only recently joined.
