for my sweetheart – SIX OF SWORDS: SCIENCE — Intelligence that has realized its goal. Labor. Work. Success after anxiety. Passage from difficulty. Journey by water. Progress towards solving a problem. May show that there is an open passageway that leads away from troublesome situations, but the destination is unknown.

for myself – EIGHT OF PENTACLES: PRUDENCE — Intelligence applied to material affairs. Agriculture. Building. Skill. Cunning. Industriousness. Successful use of creative skills and craftsmanship in the job. The completion of tasks is indicated as well as the reward of completion.
I hope that mine means the system I’m working on will be done today…I’d like this project to be finished.
Walkies this morning were truncated. I was out for perhaps 20 minutes before heading back in… strong sun and heavy gravity drove me back into my cave. I preferred to just shower and shave, and I’ll to some walkies later tonight, to knock me out before bedtime. I just didn’t have the interest in doing the hour walk after waking up… the morning was too heavy.

Ed Halayko struck gold when he served his ailing wife meat loaf. But he’s not very happy about it.
His wife, Marjorie, spit out a small golden object when she was eating the meat loaf Monday. It turned out to be a dental crown.
Halayko said that since his wife has no crowns — which are permanent artificial replacements for a decayed tooth — the crown must have been inside the ground beef and pork he purchased earlier that day.
Fishermen Can’t Help But Open Stinky Bag

Human body parts have been found stuffed in industrial bags in a river on the north coast of New South Wales.
Police say two fishermen made the grisly find late yesterday afternoon on the Hastings River at Wauchope, near Port Macquarie.

We are coding like madmen in an attempt to hammer out speed related problems with the new database system, and speeding up every database query we make. There is now a second DB server up with the new DB system. It seems to be doing very well.
LiveJournal is currently being slow. I see lots, and lots of people hitting the reload button far more than they should. This does not help, as I am sorry to say. If the site will not load for you, please only try once every fifteen minutes.

redfinition of struct iovec… compilation complaint. *pbbbts* at the compiler.
This is a conflict between my C library includes and my kernel includes. I need to make sure that the versions of both are matched properly. There are two workarounds, either one will solve the problem:
Remove the definition of struct iovec from your C library includes…
or, Add -DNO_WRITEV to the EXTRA_CFLAGS line in my Configuration and reconfigure/rebuild. (This hurts performance and should only be used as a last resort.)
Well, then… A-removing I shall go!

In light of last night's movie… some straight dope
Did the Celts really celebrate a holiday by building a huge, hollow man out of wicker, filling the man with prisoners, then lighting the thing on fire? Or instead are they the victims of really bad Roman press? If true, this really sets a high bar for judging a tough family holiday.
