Why do we assume Humpty Dumpty was a gigantic anthropomorphic egg? Apparently the poem was originally a riddle, but there are lots of things besides eggs that can’t be reassembled after falling from a height and breaking. Not even by a bunch of horses.

Maybe Humpty Dumpty was a massive defense robot. Maybe he was sabotaged. Maybe the reason no one could put him together again was because he was a remnant of a bygone era, left behind by a world that moved on, and all knowledge of the ancient technology that created him was lost generations ago.

When the Vault Dweller enters the map, all that can be seen (beyond the usual desert dust) is a large blue police call box. These were a common sight on the island of Great Britain during the 1960s. When the Vault Dweller approaches this strangely-located object, the light on top starts spinning, and the box slowly vanishes into thin air with a whooshing sound, leaving behind only a motion sensor.

There’s nothing better in a comic than a good old cutaway map/blueprints.

So when they give you a map of Hades, well, you’d better pay attention!
