Dinner at JT’s, date night, since in-laws are headed to the mountains this weekend. Hot dogs for her, waffles for me. (Out of black bean burger)
Met Mindy and Marc Meyer after passing waffle syrup to them at the table behind me. (practically mork and mindy, good mnemonic), chatted, got along well, made plans to go with them to dinner at months end. Unexpected, haven’t done that sort of thing in a while. Also from FAU (they noticed my cap), some entertaining similarities.
Sprite zero slurpees at 7-11! First decent diet flavor in ages, years.
Watched so one of vikings, Allison zonked out.
Caught up and posted recent blog entries.
Wrote this.
I need to mow the lawn tomorrow.

We bugged out early as govsec was done for the day, The keynote speaker did well, but at about noon, we figured the time had come to go, so we wandered to Chinatown for a light lunch of a tasty beer and some nibbled off the cheese board at RFD.
We then stopped for a bit at the Goethe Institute, then headed to Labyrinth games to look for a treat to pick up for the game shelf, and for Shaun to get his order of assorted games and supplements filled.
I ultimately bought Allison and myself Smash Up and the add on Awesome Level 9000, after playing with Kat (the owner of labyrinth) and Shaun. Her Wizards/robots beat out his fairies/ninjas and my dinosaurs/pirates. Later this evening, His Zombie/Cyberpunk beat my killer plants/beat cavalry and Allison’s Martians/ghosts.
Prior to connecting with Allison, we rode the metro to new Carrollton after a brief mix up with the Orange line during rush hour. After we made it there, Allison ultimately took us all to Crofton’s Lemongrass, where we feasted like kings.
The green curry was a bit spicy, but it was all delicious.

Ides of May, fose day 2
Took Shaun along, went to a few security and app classes as well as hitting the expo floor. It was good to see CodeRed was still doing nicely, and that David digiacomo is now president.
Lots of nifty tech developments to see, from security cameras, bomb sensing and defusing drones, super hollow point ammo, auto detection ID devices and automated machine gun nests to stand up tricycles for beat cops. Knife fighting and k9 made for some trade show niftiness on the govsec side of the trade floor. On “my side” we had more Korean vendors, cloud systems, tiny low power consumption computers, contractor training booths, Lexis nexis reference, swag bags and pens then you could point a stick at. Allison now has plenty of post-its and pens to keep her in like Flynn for a year.
The days of the booth babe are officially over, thank goodness. Nice to be able to get more than cursory info from folk, and not have to deal with goggle eyed dudes mobbing a region just because it has a hottie parked there.
