It’s time for the Great Backyard Bird Count

The 17th Annual GBBC will be held Friday, February 14th through Monday, February 17th 2014

The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual four-day event that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations.

It’s free, fun, and easy. Each checklist submitted during the GBBC helps researchers at the National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology learn more about how birds are doing, and how to protect them and the environment we share.

Join thousands of other birdwatchers of all ages, novices and experts and contribute to our knowledge of Birds.

GBBC participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes (or as long as they wish) on one or more days of the event and report their sightings online at www.birdcount.org.

A few more pix from yesterday. The walk to L’enfant goes right through the sculpture garden.

Good news! The love cube may be hurt but is able to be repaired rather than demolished for scrap. We will have the rental for about two weeks while the Tupperware and tinfoil get replaced.

Got my silver medal for extra life. I enjoyed doing the marathon back in October.

imagesleepy early tonight. Went to sweetfrog for a pets on wheels fundraiser, noisy in there but tasty way to raise money for helper critters
