Whew, getting pretty hot in the sunlight at midday. Says 66F but I call shenanigans on that…it feels like the 80s. No wind off of the bay, but once I was in the shade, it was feeling more my style.
#bogsafari – critters were out in major force today! Several lizards / skinks were sunning happily on the stump pylons en route home, many turkey vultures in the air, insects buzzing and flying about, from bumblebees to horseflies. A couple of frogs by the water’s edge in the wooded areas, they are probably eating quite well. One osprey, a pair of cardinals, three (at least) squirrels. Humans in the neighborhood continue to not wear masks, even those working next to one another to move a hot tub out of a house down the road from ours.
Next up on my Vonnegut reading list is Galapagos. Had to take a little break for a bit…some writers get a bit same-y if taken too close together, Kurt doubly so. Filler between books has been nonfiction about World War One, asorted marvel comics digests and Maureen Johnson’s “Truly Devious” books. Pretty entertaining all told.

More green, but so cool outside compared to prior days! Temp this morning was 62F, great for me but a bit brisk for the other family.
#bogsafari was light, but 2 osprey were nice to see. Minimal human or quadruped creatures spotted en route. Squirrels in the yard are about through the feeder.
#pyewacket is mending from yesterday. Poor boy gets a lot of medicine for his mouth, pain relief, antibiotics added to his regular routine. He is still a little drunk from yesterday’s anesthesia but probably back 90%. He slept all night on his mama when in bed and on me when on the couch. Eating and excreting like a champ, thankfully.
Neighbor is putting a roof on the house, but I am thankful that they don’t start hammering until 9am. (If I worked the night shift, I would be a cranky fellow)
