got up early this morning to walkies, but I’m not quite up to it yet. made it to the gas station and back, but the beach was too much effort for me today, in the tail end of my sick-yuck.

I hope my sweetie’s feeling better… the poor girl’s had to deal with one pesky trouble after another and certainly deserves the weekend to relax and recuperate.

I really want a digicam. That wacky mp3 player one looks like a nice fun gizmo, and cheap too. a nice thing to take with me on outings… there wasn’t anything that called out to me today to take a snapshot of, but I’m sure taking pictures of the airport, or sunrise on the beach would be fun.

Payday. (Last one before the end of the month) That’s something to be happy about… my budgeting is working nicely, building a comfortable little nest egg. when I first started my LJ, I was in financial straits… paying the bills for three grownups as well as myself. Thankfully, they’ve all recovered from the income troubles they were having, and I no longer have to squeak by paycheck to paycheck. I know so many people now that are taking care of adult dependants… Kevin (my boss) with his sisters, nephews and brother in law seems to have it the worst. He’s 33 years old, and is tending to the needs of four adults and three children. I wonder how he manages to keep himself fed, clothed and as stress-free as he does. I know of other folks, even younger, tending to the needs of parents or siblings too… I suppose there’s one caregiver and at least one care-needer in every family. (Poor Kev just is taking up six other folks’ slack)

I found myself thinking of walking with my love, hand in hand…as I’m frequently wont to do…she travels with me in my heart everywhere. thought about swinging arms, and laughing… always makes me walk farther than if I were alone.

Happy Birthday, !!! xoxoxo

dreams, the bus.

I dreamt last night that my sweetie was writing a “ransom note” to a co-worker in alpha-bits, and she had me sort the letters out in a fresh box while preparing the text for the note.

No glue or anything on the letters, just arranged on his desk, warning him that doom was soon to befall him… and I think it was implied that he was to eat the note after reading it. I’m not sure… it was a little hazy on that point.

I wonder how the plan of coming revenge on the ‘mad knocker’ is coming along?

going to bed.

Sweet dreams, LJ folks.

I’m off to snoozeville.

side note – ahhh!! My baby is past the trouble she was having. 🙂 I’m hoping this means her other symptoms will refresh too… better sleep, less anguish. 🙂

“They say no one will ever rhyme ‘purple’
But I say that someday, those who usurp will!”

oh, and my best rhyme for orange is doorhinge.

I want a buttered muffin, a carafe of OJ, and a back rub.

instead, a protein bar, water and petting Newt will do.

I’m fiddling with my homepage. I wanted to make it as omni-browser safe as possible. That may not be probable.

Netscape people – I’m tired of doing loads of extra coding because your crap little browser does not conform to the set of published standards. So there. I am not a Microsoft fanboy, but I do believe they have the best browser.

Just to help anyone to understand the pain in the butt that Netscape is: I’ve made this nice little DHTML thing that lets you select a picture from a drop down menu and then changes the picture and the caption underneath. It works like a baboon on acid in IE, but of course, NS chokes and dies when this is in fact all pretty standard stuff.

I’ve seen and tested Netscape 6.1, and the little SOB still won’t show the pics.

What happened? Netscape used to be the cutting-edge one. I hate Bill Gates as much as the next guy, but the product is superior.

I really dislike making something that one group is left out on, but I don’t know… maybe it’s time to say “sorry guys, what you get is what you have, if you had the better *just as free* browser, instead. not safe for five browsers, just good for lynx level text only, and the whee-fun msie with flash and DHTML schtuff.

made lots of fun flash thingies, but nothing final..little popboopdingthings. more learning procedures. amazing, versatile and simple language.

So, anyway… where’s my sweetie? I think she went back to bed and closed the lid tight, like Tupperware. (No wonder she’s so young looking!) 😉 My little Moonflower seems to be extra sleepy lately…well, I’ll just think good thoughts for sleeping beauty and bounce from writing to code to reading by her side until she gets up. Hopefully she’ll wake long enough for us to watch mad tv or snl tonight.

I need to give myself a writing project. a fresh genre, maybe. Mystery? Western? Romance? A silly, light comic-booky story?

I dunno…

Landlord left. He’ll be back tomorrow to put insulation and patch drywall.

Carman quit yesterday (with good reason) , and that probably means Karen won’t be far behind. It’s too bad, but probably couldn’t be avoided. A shame though, because they’re both good people, good workers, and people I could see being work-buddies with. They’ll still be pals, but I won’t see as many happy, pleasant faces.

Maybe something about work?
