This was the spot where i thought I saw painted stones that turned out to be beer cans earlier this month.
“NORTH BEACH, Md. — At 4 p.m. on March 24, Calvert County Emergency Communications Center alerted fire and EMS personnel to reports of a vehicle into a building in the 8400 block of Bayside Road.
Squad 1, Paramedic 219, Safety 1, Ambulance 256 (Calvert EMS-Dunkirk), Medic 201 (Calvert EMS), and Chief 6 (Huntingtown) responded. Co. 1 crews arrived to find a late model pick-up truck approximately six feet into the storefront with two occupants still in the vehicle.
The occupants were assessed for injuries and assisted out of the vehicle. No one inside the store or inside the vehicle was injured.
The two vehicle occupants were transported to Calvert Medical Health Center as a precaution.
No significant structural damage to the building was found and the building was turned back over to the owners. Chief 6 had command.”

Swampwalk was a grey, foggy time, even though I was off to a late start (maybe 11am) There was a lot of moisture, both hanging in the air and on the ground. Some lovely distant thunder last night and a nice bit of rainfall. Temperature is in the Mid 50sF.
As for the bog safari, I spotted an unusual number of abandoned tires, at least a half dozen in different places. On the critter front, Panda Cat made another appearance, a large number of small songbirds, including a titmouse or two, many robins, at least three squirrels, a female cardinal , some distant woodpecker noise and a neighborhood dog in the yard two houses down that I have never seen before – a gray bull terrier, I think it was a puppy, barked a little until the neighbor called it back indoors.
The fallen tree limbs are slowly being absorbed into the swamp, and the lack of foliage really stands out when it is foggy.
In other news, we are planning to babysit neighbor Miss Pearl Kitty this weekend, so expect a photo or two of her if she is amenable.

First spotted this chair 7 years ago today, at the savage mill antique shop while we were attending the yarn party. They wanted three grand for it, hand carved.
It turned up in 2017 in an auction article with far getter photography and backstory.

Bog safari report –
Saw little miss Katniss on the neighbor’s window, and cooed to her for a few moments, but she had no interest in me, but preferred to watch the squirrels and birds outside. I think that look was “hit the road, beardy… your are interrupting my food tv”
So, I toddled onward, happy to see some bumblebees and springtime daffodils had already started to go about being the local scenery. Aside from Katniss cat, I spotted a number of fuzzy bumblebees, a few squirrels, a male cardinal , a few song sparrows and something large high up, likely a turkey vulture. No sign of the bald eagle or any water critters.
Most noticed was a great number of heavy fallen branches and sideways trees… those winds last nigh must’ve been stronger than I thought. I was surprised that I couldn’t hear any peeper-frogs, but maybe later this evening. Plenty of chirpy birds and the occasional woodpecker percussion kept things from being very quiet.
Sisto, Harold and I noticed that the redbuds are sprouting, as are the cherry and pear trees. It’s a pity those decorative trees don’t have fruit, or maybe it is a good thing. Can’t have a bunch of sloppy drunk deer and birds wobbling all over the place.
