Al Amarjan slang

The people of Al Amarja come from many different cultures, and have developed a unique patois all their own. Below are a few of the more commonly used words and their meanings.

Barrio – one of the quarters or sectors of the Edge., taking its name from the plaza around which the quarter is located
Beenie – a burglary, from “B&E” (breaking and entering)
Bennie – someone who works for a patron.
Black – firearm(s).
Burger – newcomers to Al Amarja. “Burger” is both singular and plural. Terms such as “Stupid Burger” are redundant.
Cloak – noun, an operative, a secret agent. Verb, to act as an operative or secret agent.
Company – once the CIA was known as “The Company.” Now that term has come to mean any conspiracy.
Da – “yes”. Used to denote sadness or hopelessness
Deep – spiked with depressants.
Dis – to supply some faction with disinfo. “Max just dissed the Movers.”
Disinfo – willfully incorrect information.
Ex-Tek – Weird science from elsewhere. Short for “extraterrestrial technology.” Can also refer to extra-dimentional technology, extra-temporal technology, or whatever.
Feed – to supply some faction other than your own with accurate information. “I need you to feed a contact.”
Frill – noun, someone loosely tied to a company used for low level espionage. The term “expendable frill” is redundant. Verb, to work as a frill, to perform low level espionage.
Front – a false organization through which a company works.
Hai – “yes”. Used to connote efficiency or polite, formal acknowledgment among business circles.
Hole – a secret base of operations for a company, especially one underground.
Ja – “yes”. Used by an inferior to connote acknowledgment of a superior’s status. Similar to “Yes sir.”
Jumped – spiked with stimulants
Lucy – a satanist. Considered an insult.
Maalesh – no sweat, don’t worry, relax, etc.
Margin – Al Amarjan. Slang term used by the lower and lowest classes.
‘Martian – Al Amarjan. Slang term used by the middle and upper classes.
Normie – someone who does not partake in the Al Amarjan lifestyle
Oppenheimer – fringe scientist
Oui -“Yes”. Used in a romantic context.
Pube – an adolescent who has legally acquired the status of an adult.
Scarab – newcomer to Al Amarja.
Si – “Yes”. Used to connote grudging agreement.
Shiv – a fringe power. Also, a knife.
Shiver – anyone with a fringe power
Sleeper – a cloak leading a normal life while waiting for orders from the company.
Starver – an artist, especially an independent one.
Surveill – to keep under surveillence
Toy – a special weapon, tool, or device used for cloaking.
Ugly – someone deformed by genetic misfortune
Willie – a slave. All slaves on Al Amarja are voluntary slaves.
Zero – a worthless, useless, hopeless person.
