Lappie is now 2000. Hooray! much better than “WinMe”. all of his drivers are working… I just have to get big brain twiddled so that Lappie can share big brain’s internet, files and printing. The Laptop didn’t like the 2000 drivers too much… fortunately I had a crack team of netsurfers downloading video, modem, and assorted other OS pieces for me. 🙂

I should have Big brain home and back online tomorrow night…. I’m guessing that maybe 30 minutes more of work will complete the little remainder.

Thinking about my sweetheart, and hoping that she’s having the most pleasant of dreams. I’m going to join her in snoozetown shortly.

Goodnight, dear journal.

Okie… taking apart big brain for the move to work shortly…

I’m a little nervous about taking them both to work, just because it’s all of my techno-loot… I’d hate to lose my online abilities from home for too long. (Hopefully, both will make it home in one piece tonight.)

Unhappy dreams last night… but I’m happy to have awakened to the discovery that they were just dreams. I don’t like losing people that I love.

hump dayhSssSSUgh…

Stinky day at work, but I’m home now.

Upside, I saw Cathi and Eryn at the Bus stop while waiting to take my ride to work… got invited to a reggae show tonight, but I had to work too late. It’s still nice to get the offer.

I’m bringing my laptop & big brain to work tomorrow… Going to reformat the laptop, and find proper drivers for big brain… then set up a crossover cable between the two. Lappie is going to go over to windows 2000, to match the box.

I may put red hat on the tall box, too… make it a dual-boot again. Depends on how much time is available… It looks like it’ll be a slow day though, so I think it’ll be okay.

Time to undress, unwind, and play confuse-a-cat. Hmm.. palm synched entry didn’t fly in.

Here’s a little-baby mod for the grotto index.. I’m still not totally happy with it. Once I settle on colors and design, it’ll get re-implemented across the board.

What do you get when you cross a Chinese restaurant with an Indian tribe?

Lo Mien on the totem pole!

*Hides from thrown produce*

I wonder if that’s considered politically incorrect these days?

Aside from the recorder, I have half a mind to pick up the didgeridoo… but first things first.

Heh… now *that*’s a comic book cover, though I sorta dig the the coolest way to fight crime… with fish

Speaking of fish-smacks… I think the sturgeon are up to something.

Random Scotto flashback… 1980. My brother is 8 years old, and he’s making us scrambled eggs with cheese for Saturday breakfast. He’s totally proud of himself, and I think it’s pretty cool too. The eggs were really good, with a dash of pepper on top and with a side of buttered toast. I could go for those right now, honestly… even though the whole uric acid thing is grossitty-gross gross. My brother was a really sweet little kid. (Now, he’s a sweet big kid.)

It turns out that if you dress up your delivery staff in cheap Spiderman outfits, your sales will go through the roof. Love the guy with the glasses. I think the world needs more delivery-people and promoters dressed as superheroes…it’d be like living in Marvel Manhattan!

Newt’s been a morning slacker today… just sort of walking and flopping down to take scritchies. The good life.

9:30… time for the three S’s. Until Later, dear journal.

Don’t Be A Victim

Victims generally feel that something bad has happened to them and they, themselves, are in no way responsible for it. Now, authentic victims certainly do exist – let’s be perfectly clear on that. However, in a book called, “A Nation of Victims,” Charles Sykes points out that far too many of us have grown adept at finding someone else to blame for our problems and ignoring our own personal responsibility for them.

When you give up accountability for any aspect of your life, you also give up control. When you give up control, you’re basically saying, “There’s nothing I can do about it. There’s no hope of improvement.” What kind of example are you setting for the young people in your life?

Gamera! Gamera!
Gamera is really neat.
Gamera is filled with meat.
We’ve been eating Gamera!
Shell
Teeth
Eyes
Flames
Claws
Breath
Scales
Fun!

Gamera’s enchantment still grows.
He fills our hearts with love.
Gamera’s the latest thing.
He fills our hearts with spring, spring, spring!
Anytime you want some moonbeams,
Gamera is the thing.

Gamera is really neat,
He is filled with turtle meat.
We all love you, GAMERA!!!

(Random Scotto factoid… Newton was nearly named Gamera.)

hey! Commander USA!

Surfing around LJ, and I see the same idea trends popping up again.

There are some people that assume that think “All men will cheat, given the chance”. Um, no. I believe that what may be true of some, or even most, is rarely true for all.

I am a man.

I’ve had some opportunities here and there, but I’ve never cheated, nor have I even wanted to. I find the idea to be wholly repugnant. The thought of breaking a trust to have some sex? That doesn’t fly.

That does not make me a homosexual, a coward, or weak.

It makes me loyal and true to myself, as well as her.

That’s all I have to say about that. /gump

In other news…

I want a computer like orlando jones in the time machine. (I just watched it the other night… I downloaded that and the unreleased fantastic four movie. I’d love to get my hands on the Dr Doom mask from that.)

I’m drawing “crop circles” in Newton’s fur with my finger… he seems to be enjoying it. He’s purring like a demented lawnmower, anyhow.
