Spring in Roanoke is keeping us on our toes! It’s 62°F and cloudy right now, but things are heating up to 80°F later tomorrow—before storms roll in. Strong winds, hail, maybe even a rogue tornado?

I totally missed the new drop from toyfinity.store , and Mrs Bear got me a sweet collection of toys at about 3am !   I am a lucky old bear.  I’ll know exactly what I get when it arrives, but i am confident that she at minimum picked up Aquaskull and Spectre colorways, as she knows my tastes well.

i must not get takeout. takeout is the wallet-killer. takeout is the little death that brings total obliteration. i will face the kitchen, fridge, and pantry. i will make choices about what to cook and then execute them. when hunger is gone, there will be nothing, only i will remain

Even though I don’t condone ai theft, *every use* of the internet costs water.

Every hour of 4k video you watch uses 10-20 liters of water. It doesn’t matter what service.

Browsing Instagram or Facebook is 2-4 liters per hour. Much more for streaming video again like tiktok or reels.

For me, it was another reason to ditch all social media except bluesky, discord, and my online blog. Meta, Twitter and tiktok just is a time and resource thief with very little return on my investment.

Me, personally, it was burning hours per day, and all it did was make me angry or sad. Places like here make me mostly happy, and that is worth it.

Day 20,507

Daily doodle. I don’t know why I prefer my lake creatures to have giant eye(s), but I do.

A cycloptic, spiny green monster peering out from under water, surrounded by some sparse plants, reflected in the water’s surface.

I learned from my Icelandic friend this morning that the “war” in warlock is unrelated to the word “war,” but that it means “pledge” or “oath.”  So a warlock is an oath-lock, or oath-bound.  But also, this old Germanic word, *waera*, which is the source for both, became negative in English, connected to heathenry, while in modern Icelandic, *væra* means “innocent” or “cuddly,” so “cuddle-lock” or, as he put it, “the Snugglebound.”

Happy One Month Anniversary to this story.

Come on Democrats.

The Secretary of Defense was drunk texting plans of a highly classified military operation.

Get on tv. Call it treason.

Demand a criminal investigation. Call for resignations. And when they cover it up, Call for the public to support impeachment.

This is a slam dunk
