Ate breakfast on the deck with BHK, and slowly got moving today.

While she and Chris worked on the flower bed out front, I commenced to taking care of long overdue paperwork.

After the sun went down, Larry came over and we all had pizza and watched My Fake Fiance a made for tv chick flick. cute – MJ Hart looked pretty preggo in it, and Joey (erm Joseph) Lawrence didn’t say "Woah" once.

Slow wake up day, taking it easy. I’m pretty creaky, and BHK is in more need of an oil can than I am, today.

BHK made me some lovely chocolate pancakes for breakfast… so much that we couldn’t finish ’em. There’s still one mammoth tasty circle in the fridge for later.

We went upstairs and relaxed a bit – caught up with afew episodes of reaper (end of season 1) and then I went on walkabout on my own – BHK was too out of it to go today, so I made a quick route, but saw Zorro and a few of the other kitties – see photos below. Garden is coming along – cauliflower and cabbage both are growing nicely.

Watched Castle, the Unusuals (BHK fell asleep, so I also started meet the spartans… dumb movie, but it was what I was looking for at the moment.)

Happy Muddah’s Day, to all muddah types!

We celebrated mother’s day at clarke’s landing – seafood was ok, but not up to normal par. Chris liked it, and that was the goal.

Had a nice day – Larry had to go tend to Prom, so we came over to our place and watched Wuthering Heights.

I split time between the movie, and installing Adobe CS4 – got a good deal on it from a friend, and now I may finally take scottobear.com out of its old look. Still debating a theme, but it’ll be cleaner, and will incorporate bHK, pye, newt and myself all on our own pages.

Cinco De Mayo… Cheers! We had ratatouille and baked potato for supper. (But the bagel I ate had jalapenos on it!)

Contemplating going to Bengie’s Drive-in this weekend. Triple feature of Fanboys, Monsters vs. Aliens and Star Trek a fun, dorky night.
I’m not sure though – I’d prefer to see MvsA in 3-d.

Talked to Danny on the phone tonight – he might be jumping into a game of Champions at his local game store this summer. 150 points – the store used to be the Dragon’s Lair, but it’s now Adventure something or another.

Bro sent me a text from his new phone – I’ll call him tomorrow and see how he sounds. I’m sure he’s happy to be out and about.

No Franklin again this morning – I noticed that the lawn was treated with chemicals – hopefully that kept him away, along with the cold, drizzly rain.

Happy Cuatro De Mayo! BHK brought home a few fun things from the thrift store – Aztec statuary for the lawn – a temple, an Idol, and a terra-cotta dancer!

BHK drove me in to work today – made the transition the first day back a lot simpler. We scanned for Franklin, but it was raining. He isn’t as silly as the puff from yesterday – knows when to get out of the rain (unlike Pyewacket, who likes to stick his head under any faucet he can. Hurricane baby.

Some days, I feel a bit like Lennie from Of Mice and Men… I feel that I have to be extra gentle, just so I don’t demolish everything in my path. I don’t want to break any necks, either figuratively or otherwise.

I’m getting better about it, though. Today was exhausting, but I’m glad I’m back at my gig.

Big Bang was cute tonight – lots of nods to nerds, and dinner was a broad assortment of nibs and nabs… veggie spare ribs, taquitos, rice, jalepeno poppers, and edamame! very tasty, and I’m going to pop in a moment.

Cookout on the porch with in-laws – burgers on the grill, baked potato, Brussels sprouts, lemon meringue pie

Sex Attacks based on Bat Demon.

Men in parts of Tanzania’s main city, Dar es Salaam, are living in fear of a night-time sex attacker.

A BBC correspondent says the attacks are being blamed by some on a demon called “Popo Bawa” meaning winged bat.

Some men are staying awake or sleeping in groups outside their homes. Others are smearing themselves with pig’s oil, believing this repels attacks.

Reports of the demon’s existence have been common for many years in Zanzibar, where locals claim it originated.

The BBC’s John Ngahyoma in Dar es Salaam says not many people actually believe that the demon exists and there have been no sightings.

But Mbaruku Ibrahim, who hails from Zanzibar, says the story of the demon is common there and people in his village on Pemba island sleep beside a huge fire outside their houses whenever it is said to appear.

The story goes that the bat is able to transform itself into a man at night and it has also been blamed for rapes of women.

Sheikh Yahya Hussein, a prominent astrologer in Tanzania, claims that the demon is a spirit that is unleashed by witches to torment their opponents.

Belief in witchcraft and superstitions is widespread in Tanzania, especially in rural areas.

Nutshelling.

BHK and I have been married 30 months today!

Book fair at the BIG warehouse. I stocked up on some Bradbury, Phil Farmer, and Laura Lippman.

Got a little walking in, but there was no way I could haul the huge pile of books about.

BHK made Homemade chili – she thinks it’s burned, but I like it fine!

Lawn cut, and a lot of planting done by the family.

Dinner at Selby’s – Bought Larry a Lemon Meringue pie. Veggie sub was good – Linda the cook is in the hospital, but her replacement did a great job of making a sammich.

More wii games from the library. (Wario Shake it / Super Brawl) – Wario is cute, from an old-school Mario-brothers perspective. Super Brawl didn’t wow me.

Farmers Market – BHK and Chris picked up a great number of flowers and plants for the garden, I spent the day seated for the most part.

Garden was dusted for slugs and bugs – hopefully the squirrels will stay out of the lettuce.

Got the 2nd book in the Nightside series at th library – #3 came via bookmooch, and #4 was the BIG book sale a few months back. another book sale tomorrow – I hope I’m up to making the rounds.

Took it easy. in-laws came over for Chinese food.

Getting caught up on my light reading – Laura Lippman’s Baltimore Blues is pretty good – Simon R Green’s Nightside stuff is a bit too Mary Sue (Marty Lou?) – not as good as Jim Butcher’s Dresden books, but entertaining popcorn novels.

Reverting a bit to childplay – petting the cats, watcinhg tv, but mixing it up with catching up on my sql skills and visual studio strengths when not too stupid on muscle relaxers.

Back to work – no Franklin, but I did spot a tin of eaten cat food… someone’s taking care of him.

Not feeling the vibe – really out of it. Hypersensitive both physically and emotionally. Ye Olde Back/ Leg plus lack of good sleep, I think.

I am really creaking quite a bit today – BHK was very kind to pick me up from work – we got home and we had homemade shepherds pie… always a favorite. veggie-meat, mung beans, corn, and mashed potatoes.

I’ll sleep well tonight, and am looking forward to tomorrow’s leftover lunch.
