#bogsafari – Saw a white squirrel today, but it was too fast to get caught on camera. I do have hope of seeing it more now… I don’t think it was the same one as last time, but I can’t say for sure. Other critters seen: a long haired collie being walked by a pair of humans, three bluejays, and a frog that hopped directly into the water as I drew near. Also spotted I big burrow, possibly a groundhog lair. No sign of any of the usual cats, eagles, buzzards or squirrels.
#swampwalk – a solid mid-to upper 70sF, a lot nicer in the shade. Humid, but no pesky bugs. There is a hit of orange starting to show in the treetops, and I am hoping for a little cold snap this weekend. Harold’s top half is looking more than a little ruddy too, come to think of it.
Intended to leave when the weather was 66⁰F this morning, but miss Pearl preferred a bit of enrichment. Who am I to deny a kitty some solid playtime?
Random bit of information picked up today – ancient Egyptian lamps were often fueled with olive oil! I bet that smelled a good deal better than pitch and tar torches.
