Went to the singing fountain and back. I think I’m ready for sleeps now.
It wasn’t singing. it was sort of burbling, and I liked that even better.

nigh nigh again, dear journal.

Guess who can’t sleep. Brain tired, body wide awake.
“CAMDEN, New Jersey (AP) — There’s something strange underfoot in Camden. Black blobs polka-dotting the streets and sidewalks of the Waterfront South area have some residents fearful for their health and worried the blobs might signal the end of their neighborhood.”
Well, now we know how many blobs it takes to fill the Albert Hall.
Notice the incredible power of denial when faced with the inexplicable:
“Some neighbors tell Sanders she’s paranoid, that there’s a simple explanation for the stuff. Perhaps, they say, it was just chewing gum. “
Uh huh. Chewing gum that starts out oily and 6 inches across before drying into smaller waxy spots about the size of a half-dollar. That doesn’t sound like Juicy Fruit.
And where is the other standard feature of the Fortean occurrence?
“Bob Lentine, assistant commissioner of the county health department, said he thinks the stuff might be industrial pollutants or fuel discharge from the jets that fly directly overhead from nearby Philadelphia. In any case, it’s probably nothing to worry about, he said.”
Yessiree, we don’t know what the heck it is, but it’s probably harmless.
Nothing to see here, everyone go home.
So sleepy! Not really into writing much today… fox hidden camera was mediocre tonight… not as much dark humor, just tricky situations.
I don’t know what knocked me out, but it’s something. I imagine I’ll be up after having a two hour sleep. We’ll see how it goes… more old west reading before bed… nice time with the sweetie, a quiet night at home making naughty jokes and awwing at animals on tv.
Nighters for now, dear journal.
talked to rob today from work! he, Dan, and I will be getting together sometime soon to catch up! yay!
Ahhh… lovely fortune cookie today.

Been reading about Liver Eatin’ Johnson…Standing 6’2″ in his stocking feet and weighing nearly 250 pounds, he was a mountain man among mountain men, one of the toughest customers on the western frontier. One morning in 1847, he returned to his Rocky Mountain trapper’s cabin to find the remains of his Indian wife and her unborn child, who had been killed by Crow Indians. The discovery made Johnson vow vengeance on the entire Crow nation, and tracking its warriors singly and in groups, he killed 300 of them, scalped them, and ate their livers. Much of the world now knows mountain man John Johnson as Robert Redford in the movie Jeremiah Johnson. The real Johnson was a far cry from the Redford version, but an amazing person.
remember to check if palm posted this morn.
just got smiled and waved at by a pretty girl from a white camero… I’d guess that she was 7.
ok… Newtcam is on, and I’m off to the races! See you tonight, dear journal!
Today –
My mind is slightly fogged. I am quite impressed with this thing. Laziness surrounds and engulfs me… I don’t want to go to work, but I shall.

A moment of Zen –
All the objects of the senses
Interact and yet do not.
Interacting brings involvement.
Otherwise, each keeps its place.
Eye and sights, ear and sounds,
Nose and smells, tongue and tastes;
Thus with each and every thing,
Depending on these roots,
The leaves spread forth.– Shitou Xiqian (700-790)

Hopping in the shower… hopefully I can clear the cobs.
back from supper out with the bloods.
we went to “sweet tomatoes” and had all you can eat salad, soup and pasta.
Once in the parking lot, I commenced oral evacuation of supper and lunch too for good measure. Brother and Mother seem to be in good health, so I suspect that it wasn’t a result of the food at the dinner-place.
I feel fine now… save for a minor tightness in my gut from hurling my fill of above.
In an unrelated note, I’m looking forward to doing laundry on Saturday. Not sure why. I just want all my clothes clean. A weird urge.
I hope south park is even 1/10th as funny as it was last week. I’m still doing the great wall Mongolian Chinese death dance *FWASSSSSH*
Hee.. it’s about sea monkeys. good start.
F-ing MONGORIANS!
oh, and the new semagic client is nice!
Had a nice night’s sleep, but didn’t get any extra… just about 7 hours. I don’t recall my dreams last night, but had a nice wake up Had a nice shower, and I’m ready for a new day.
ooooh… pretty, and nifty!
3-d flashmap of a lj person’s friends… mouse over, and you can see who they’re buddies with.
more coolio 3-d shockwave schtuff here.
Cluelessmailers.org has created The Spamdemic Map… documenting, as you might guess, the epidemic of spam. It shows who’s sending it and how. The point of the “cluelessmailers” name is that some of these companies clearly don’t even realize that they’re paying spammers and annoying potential customers.
I have to remember to call and confirm dinner plans with the mother and the brother. (Hmm… sounds like some kind of 70’s detective show… She’s a working single mom, trying to get by with a latchkey child…he’s a african-american disenfranchised street tough who’s got a heart of gold. together, they catch crooks and show that two different people can get along! Played by Susan Saint James, and JJ Walker.)

“Remember when only celebrities and CEOs hired novelists to write their books?” the Washington Post asks. “Now the novelists are hiring novelists.”
Names like Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum are more like brands than names of a particular artist, the Post reports. Tom Clancy the person “oversees a vast farm of fiction writers who crank out stories that he imagines,” we learn.
I suppose the reason it works in some cases but not others is that some “artists” don’t mind putting their own name on other people’s work. I can’t wait until some contemporary artist tries this with a painting or sculpture done by a student… it would make a great joke, I think. (One (totally unsophisticated and doubtless unoriginal) pet theory of mine is that the essence of contemporary art is that it’s all a joke.)
And just imagine the brouhaha this must be raising in literary criticism circles.
Ah well… as long as the books are good, I’m happy. I don’t care so much about the author’s name as much as I care about the quality of product. Heck, I know that a gang of people wrote stories for the Shadow, and Doc Savage, way back when…with a single pen name. Now, if the quality varies to a great degree, then I’ll raise my fist to the air, and curse the publishing gods. Maybe. Probably, I’ll just find a better set of writers and stories somewhere else.

I’m going to leave Newtcam on all day today… to spy on the boy while at work
Found out today that my accumulated sick time doesn’t accumulate. my 99.9123 hours left has been nullified, and I lost 3 days of my vacation time as a result. what it boils down to is that they stole over two weeks of paid time off from me, in case I have to do any hospital time. Also, they’ve told me that I have to use my vacation time before next June, because it no longer accumulates too, it resets.
I’m going to see if they can give me my 240 hours of vacation partially in pay, then… because there’s no way that I’ll just throw money away… or, if they like, I’ll just take a week off every month for the next six months. Somehow, I don’t think that they’ll let that happen. Same thing happened to Kev, and he’s got more time built up than I do!
After all is said and done, from now on I’ll get three personal days, three weeks vacation, and three sick days a year. Since I’m salaried, they don’t count any day that I’m in for at least four hours off of my time…. so I foresee a lot of 2-6 workdays in my future, too. ; P
I bet my dad would’ve made one of these for me as a kid.
Dang. Scientists in Australia are testing a new jet (called a scramjet) that may allow air travel at eight times the speed of sound. That would theoretically allow you travel around the world in about 5 hours.
Coming soon: New hackable kids toys. Can you imagine hacking the Instant Messaging stream and making the toys swear? Or saying things like “There’s a monster in your closet. I saw it. I’m your pal.” Oh, I can see so many cool and evil uses for those.
You thought telemarketers are annoying? How about commuter-quizzers? – Motorists on a busy interstate were flagged down at random to participate in a marketing survey about attitudes on a proposed high-speed railway to be built along the highway. Needless to say many of those “selected” were rather off-put by the tactics of the marketing company, and quite a few expressed their doubts about the legality of the operation.

I’ve got nice pot of earl gray tea.
I’m going to hit the sack fairly early tonight… catch up with my battery charging. I’m going to read a little bit before bed, though. I hope that tonight I get a full line of snooze in.
Nighty night, dear journal.
GRASP is short for Gravity Research for Advanced Space Propulsion. A Russian scientist has apparently managed to create an anti-gravity device. Potentially, this could be used to create a weapon that could vaporize objects hundreds of kilometers away with a beam of 1000 g’s of force. It sounds pretty far out to me, but for some reason, both NASA and Boeing are taking it seriously.
NASA’s attempts to replicate the research have so far failed because they lacked his “unique formula.”
Who was the MJ-12 researcher who squished himself with symbols he carved after researching the Roswell craft?

Wednesday night, plan on going out for Chinese, Thai, or Italian with mom and the bro.
It’ll have to be sometime after 8pm, because I have to work until then. Either they can meet me at work, or wait an additional hour for me to get home.
Jenjen’s getting married? last I’d heard, she wasn’t even dating anyone. I’ve got to get the skinny on *that* tidbit. John? sakes.

Thank you, Seventh Day adventists, and your corn flakes!
weird.. I can’t sleep, turn on the TV, and see ana voog talking to an ex boyfriend Chris (who was not talking to her because she’d been nude on cam), and LiveJournal is getting a mention… sally jessy raphael. the topic was “boyfriend, I’m a stripper, deal with it”…
sort of odd to catch both ana and a LJ mention at 2:45 in the morning. out of left field. I poke my nose in ana’s journal and it turns out that it was a set up… It was ana that pointed me to LiveJournal way back a few years ago… well, she handled herself much better than when she was on vibe a few years back. Creepy psych guy making snap judgments, and Ana telling him that he’s making cruel and misinformed judgments. (I agree with ana on that one.)
“El Dorado” discovered in Peruvian Amazon, explorers claim
Hmmm.. they’ll discover Belgium, next.
