Watched Brothers Grimm (finally – I’ve been halfheartedly trying since it was in the theater!) and, despite the negative reviews… I like it.

The boys continue to play together nicely… for the most part. Certainly willing to join forces against the devil vermin squirrels outside.

Visited Misti, Neil, Daniel & Emily today with the in laws and BHK – it was fun playing belated Santa. Jason’s Deli is rapidly becoming a huge fave.. I wish we had a local salad bar and soup place as yummy. Bonus was that Ukrops had some veggie-only onion soup on hand, and it was pretty dang awesome as well.
I got a chance to play a few games of laser battle (no relation to my old chestnut of laser attack) with Daniel, and it was quite fun.. I’ll probably see what I can do to add it to our games closet.
Also exchanged travel bugs with Misti – I released one due for Brazil, and received one due for Japan, and another headed to Hawaii’i. The Brazil and Japan join BHK’s Louisville, KY one as part of the Unite for Diabetes Challenge. (The Hawaii’i one is just for funzies.)
I wish Misti the best of Luck on her first day at the new gig on Monday.

The sunbeam acted as a gravity well for the boys. Pye was a bit more earthbound tan Newt… maybe because he absorbs heat more efficiently?
I made it quite easily through the polar bear swim yesterday, though the bay was brisk – (between 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit, and most certainly colder than the air temp) it was misty and rainy, so some of the photos have a rather gray cast to ’em. BHK, Chris, Larry and Tina were all kind enough to come out to cheer me on, however, none went into the drink with me… I was hoping Adam might, but he was wiped out due to being the taxi driver for assorted lushes.

Newt didn’t make it to the countdown, apparently.
The boys like to wrestle, which worries BHK a smidgen, but I think they’ll be jim-dandy.
618 entries this year… lower content this time around, mostly due to my living life, and not having much time to report it. I haven’t had any time recently to read much LJ at all, though I have tried to poke a nose in here and there when I could. (975 in 2006, 716 in 2004) – one of my new years thoughts is to try to write at least 30 minutes a day in the journal, just to hone my skills.
We move into the bigger house on or about 1/15… once all the utilities and such have been activated. The big TV and some small amount of furniture is already over there, but we haven’t begun the big move in earnest as yet.
I’m going to miss our Tannenbaum… I’ve enjoyed the giant beastie in the living room the last month or so. When it goes, I figure it means we’ll be headed to the new place shortly thereafter.
Danny turns 45 tomorrow. weird thought. That means I’ll be 38 a month from then. The years seem to just fly.
Last night, we got together with the normal motley crew to dine on tacos, rodeo beans, assorted fixins and far too many holiday pastry-type goodies. We watched “Failure to Launch” until about 10 seconds of midnight, counted down, and then watched fireworks over the Chesapeake bay. After, we started to watch Prime, but got tuckered out due to it’s general suckitude. Chick flicks were remedied by today’s viewing of Buckaroo Bonzai, Kung Fu Hustle and Fierce Creatures

The Calvert Library in Prince Frederick is really nice (It’s been open since october, even though the official grand opening is later in Jan)… lots of local color, from the fossil record fireplace to the lighthouse latrine upstairs. I’ll be taking pics, soon. A pity the children’s librarian position doesn’t pay more. The teen section carries about sixty or so current comics titles, so I may actually get back on top of a few.. or not. All of the media sections are pretty sharp, from Maryland law to dvd movies, too. Free wifi makes it an excellent stopping point after panera.
