Coughed my head off after a snootful of newt-fuzz & dust got kicked up while cleaning. Wiped me out most of the evening.. almost went to ER. Tomorrow is my 1-month anniversary.

random photos from yesterday. Sanibel is beautiful, and the shells were pretty dang amazing. we chitty chatted with weez and boop, met weez’s folks, and spent a nice period beach combing before the sun went down. on the way to and back, we saw all sorts of wildlife, especially birds like blue heron, spoonbill and other “storky” sorts, as well as a eyeload of alligators sunning themselves on the banks of the nature sanctuary. the was a fire burning way off in the north… I wonder if it was the cane fields that get slashed and lit periodically? it was a sweet smoke, and pretty particulate.. we both have slightly rough throats this morning as a result. As always, the journey was as swell as the destination. Bhk is a really wonderful traveling companion.

Lovely day… went to Miami to pick up some bedding supplies before renting out the condo, and then went on the fishing boat with Momster, Wilt, and BHK. After the trip, bhk and I hit flannigans, and went home for an early sleep, because we head to the weezle and boop’s place tomorrow on Sanibel.
highlights were spotting a frigate, discovering kite fishing, and enjoying the ‘hood.

Rough day at work… all I can do is teach the fundamentals, and hope that they catch the details as they go. I’ll be available but not on command 24/7. I fear my protege isn’t taking enough notes, but she is smart… I’ve warned both her and RI about it, and hope the Monday meeting will go well.
The day improved vastly after, got together with Danny and Bhk for tasty Italian food at Marcello’s or Peregrinos or some such.. it was deee-lish.
Later, we did a little LoTR trivial pursuit… Dan’s bad at the movie questions, and is good at all the rest.

‘Spider Girl’ gang held in Chile
Police have arrested two members of one of Chile’s most notorious gangs, known as the Spider Girls. The all-girl gang of teenagers were infamous for climbing up buildings in Santiago to burgle luxury apartments.
In a spate of high-profile robberies in 2005, they made off with thousands of pounds worth of jewelery.
Lurking in the gardens of expensive parts of Santiago, the four girls hurled ropes and hooks up to balcony railings, hauled themselves up and walked through the flat windows. They then walked out of the buildings as if they were visitors.
The gang members were arrested last year but three of them were sent to reform school rather than prison because of their age.
They vowed to change their ways but after being released, one spider girl, Yasna, returned to her old tricks, recruiting a new member,Marcielle.
Despite both being heavily pregnant, they still managed to climb up to the third floor of some flats.

Off to a lovely start with snuggles and bagles before launch to work… bhk is far superior to me at “punch buggy” , especially in the bleary early morning, where my field of vision seems to be something like fifteen degrees. I think she whomped me about 937 times on the drive to fort lauderdale, but I loved every minute of it. Every day with her seems to shine brighter and have more potential than the one before. It’s truly wonderful to have her in my life.
Found a good seasonal renter for the condo, so mortgage payments won’t be an issue for a few months… that’s a real blessing. (Hooray for laid back family friends that like to tour florida! I know she won’t trash the place, and I can give her a rockin’ deal on the rent.)
Monday meeting went pretty well, BK is still out sick, so I’m not quite sure where things stand on this and that, aside from RS getting the bulk of reporting duties, TD chewing on web / overview text info (no design work, just straight entry), and the training of the new IT guy. Things should be a fairly smooth transition, as everyone is detail oriented, and willing to take things to task… which is a big relief for me.
