Day 20,077

My current interpretation of the fourth wing (the imperium book one) [a book that Mrs picked up, and I am reading along with]

Note, no flying bears have shown up yet in the actual tome, but I hold out hope.

In my canon, Dain Frenchtoast trades up from a dragon to a black bear, doling out hot violet magical fire onto a marauding horde of Poromiel cretins with his twin .45 pistols.

Luke Cage arrived today, and it was so cold that the blister pack came away from the cardboard. Upside, I can now recreate one of the greatest moments of Cage and Doom together in comics.

Day 20,075 Waving goodbye to the snow as it slowly fades from the ground. I wonder if we will get any more before the season changes again? March 19 is rapidly approaching, but it has been plenty cold, just not very wet. I’ve been enjoying winter, as the Mrs and Pearl both are more drawn to my high levels of radiation. Good warm kimchee ramen for lunch, and promise of lasagna soup for dinner. Thank goodness for the crock pot, the kettle and the air fryer, as the microwave gave up the ghost. I didn’t think we used the nuke box very often, but you really notice when it is gone. I’ve got to measure for a replacement, because it fits over the stove. In other news, got my absentee ballot for the mar 5 election, but it’s not like either the Republicans or the Democrats are really going to get anyone outside of 45 or 46 to choose from in the long run for 47, will they? Pictures are of snow from either assorted in laws or mrs or me, just to take in the snow a bit before it is all gone. I didn’t get any good shots of the mountain peaks proper, but rest assured, they were something to see, blankets of white with little trees sticking up like haphazard hair plugs on the scalp of a 80’s DJ in south Florida. Time lapse of 24 hours of our first snow, and a doodle of the bear shaman who made sure we got some flakes but not so much as to be dangerous.

The snow is still on the ground, air is brisk, but it is still sublimating away a bit at a time.

Since the roads look good, we didn’t mind getting a pizza delivered as a warm Tuesday treat.

Day 20,070 I think Jack Frost got waylaid by a Wendigo somewhere else in the jetstream. Not a ton of snow here, most of the flakes are little tiny crystals falling just outside of the focus of my eye. No snowman to be built here just yet. Working?

Looks solid for 1-3 inches of snow tonight through Tuesday. Sounds just right to me. We will stay warm and cozy while enjoying the flakes.

Picked up groceries, so no reason to go out barring unforeseen circumstances.

Pearl is zonked out in bed, after a full day of friskiness. I peeled some potatoes for dinner, and inadvertently also got my right pointer finger too. Nothing needed but a bandage and a little iodine.

Snow is coming this week after all! (Unless things change again)

As always, I want just enough for things to have that little white highlighter look on everything, and not so much as to make life dangerous. Snow is great, black ice I can pass on.

I used to draw this hooded guy on a flying carpet all the time when I was a kid, he would fly around zapping things with magic coming from his hands, or just interact in some way with people in magazine ads or whatever if I was bored and all I had was a magazine or mailing ad laying around while I was talking on the phone or eating breakfast at the table. The fun thing was that since I couldn’t do convincing faces or bodies very well, the robes made up for a lot of errors, and a flying carpet is a lot easier to draw than a weird flying steed of another sort.

I never gave him a consistent name, just “wizard dude on a flying carpet”, and I suppose it really doesn’t have to be a dude, even. On occasion, eyestalks or tentacles would come out of the hood and sleeves, but usually it was just black hands and face area.

On a really slow day, he might shoot a beam at an army of stick figures with polearms far below, turning them into a pillar of smoke and flame.
